Saiyan Warrior Least; 3rd, Ki Warrior Least; 3rd |
A user may use his ki to push his body beyond its normal limits for a short period. To use this technique a user must spend 5 ki points as a swift action and takes 1d4 damage to enhance his physical form. When the user does this he gains +2 Strength and +2 Dexterity, +10 feet bonus to all movement speeds and a +2 bonus on Listen and Spot checks for the rest of the current round and until the end of his action next round.
A user can enhance this bonus by multiplying the effect. A user may multiply the effect by the number of class levels they have in their ki invocation class. For example. when done, a Kaio-ken ×2 costs 10 ki points and deals 2d4 damage to the user which grants bonuses of +4 Strength and +4 Dexterity, +20 movement speeds and +4 bonus on all Listen and Spot checks, but still only until the end of his action next round. For each multiplier the user attempts that is more than the level of their ki invocation class, the user also takes 1 point of Constitution damage to pay for the multiplier that they shouldn't yet be able to do.
For example, if a 5th level Saiyan Warrior uses Kaio-ken ×5 then he only pays 5d4 damage, but if he tried to do Kaio-ken ×6 he pays for the extra multiplier out of Constitution damage taking 5d4 hit points damage and 1 temporary Constitution damage. If he tries Kaio-ken ×10 than he takes 5d4 hit point damage and pays for the extra 5 damage by taking 5 temporary Constitution damage. However, if a level 3 Saiyan Warrior/2 Barbarian (level 5 character) uses the Kaio-ken ×10, he takes 3d4 damage and takes 7 points of Constitution damage, because he only has 3 levels in his ki invocation class.
A user must have enough available ki points to fuel a multiplier he chooses and the maximum potential damage that it could cause to his body must not be able to take him below 1 hit point and the temporary constitution damage cannot take him below 3 constitution or the multiplier fails. For example, if Toma, a 16th level Saiyan Warrior used Kaio-ken X20 he would have to spend 100 ki points and take 16d4 damage and 4 Constitution damage to gain +40 Strength and +40 Dexterity, +200 feet movement speeds and a +40 bonus on Listen and Spot checks. Since the maximum damage potential to his body is 64 hit points, Toma can only use a X20 multiplier if he currently has at least 64 hit points or more, even if the die rolls would probably only come out to around 40 total damage.
When a Saiyan Warrior uses this ability it cannot be used in conjunction with the Super Saiyan 1-3 transformations but it can be used with Epic level Saiyan God transformations.
