Additional Rituals[edit]

There are plenty of spells in the game that either have a purely utilitarian/roleplay purpose (Such as Distort Value), have a long duration and are cast frequently (Such as Mage Armor), or have a high enough monetary cost (Such as Sequester) that requiring them to expend a spell slot in the process of casting them is ultimately unnecessary. Thus, with this variant rule, those spells gain the ritual tag; Spells I've personally deemed worthy and safe are found below. This is not an exhaustive list, and I cannot promise that it won't upset game balance. However, for the most part, these spells have little to no difference in function as Ritual spells, because they either do so little, or cost so much. Seriously - A permanent-duration 7th-level spell that costs 5,000gp for every cast surely doesn't deserve a spell slot cost to come with it,

Some spells - Such as Galder's Tower, Druid Grove, Guards & Wards, or Temple of the Gods - Would fall into these categories; However, the ability to cast them for free means that ultimately, within the game world, each high-level caster would do so constantly, ever-increasing their permanent dominion, and even outside of player characters, that's a little busted. Admittedly, being able to Sequester as many targets as you have gold for is certainly possible, but that's a fringe case and a couple levels later, the same effect can be accomplished with the Wish spell.

Without further adieu, under this rule, the following spells gain the ritual tag:
