They can [[SRD:Hustle|hustle]], but incur limitations as though they were running (i.e. having to save make checks after a number of rounds equal to their [[SRD:Constitution|Constitution]] score and so forth). They are considered unusual creatures for the purpose of buying and using [[SRD:Armor|armor]], and furthermore incur double the [[SRD:Armor Check Penalty|armor check penalty]] resulting from worn items, though not from [[SRD:Carrying Capacity|carrying loads]].

|specialtext5=A polly is quiet and right at home in withdrawn areas in nature or underground. Many creatures consider them as simply fungus - — part of the environment - — and ignore them. Creatures of the [[SRD:Animal Type|animal]], [[SRD:Plant Type|plant]], [[SRD:Vermin Type|vermin]] , and [[SRD:Ooze Type|ooze]] types generally start out with neutral disposition towards a polly. Pollies do not trigger territorial behaviour. Creatures that prey on or eat fungus ignore this special quality.

While rooted, a polly absorbs nutrients from wood, soil, stone , and groundwater and gains [[Rapid Healing (3.5e Creature Ability)|rapid healing]] equal to its effective character level. A rooted polly enjoys a +8 circumstance bonus to [[SRD:Hide Skill|Hide]] and [[SRD:Disguise Skill|Disguise]] checks to impersonate an ordinary mushroom. For this purpose, a rooted Polly may [[SRD:Ranger#Hide in Plain Sight|hide in plain sight]] as a [[SRD:Ranger|ranger]].
