Second Chance

You are given one last chance before you fall unconscious after a brutal attack.Tier: ParagonPrerequisites: 11th level, Con 18Benefit: If a creature lands a critical blow that would bring you down to 0 or negative Hit points, you instead have 1 hit point left. Ongoing damage is dealt normally. The effect applies only once per encounter, not once per critical. If you initially had 15 or fewer hit points remaining before the critical, the benefit does not take effect.
At 21st level, you ensure 1 hit point at any value. Ongoing damage is dealt normally, and the effect applies only once per encounter.
Example: Lans is hit by an Orc Savage with a critical hit and takes 27 damage-- Lans has 20 hit points. Normally, Lans would be unconscious with -7 hit points and would have to make a death saving throw to stabilize. With this feat, Lans (mechanically) only takes 19 damage, ending up with 1 Hit Point.

If Lans had 12 Hit Points and took the same critical hit with this feat, he would not be left with 1 Hit point and would be uncounscious with -15 Hit Points. If Lans took the same amount of damage with the same amount of hit points at Epic level, he would be left with 1 Hit Point.Normal: You do not ensure 1 hit point after a critical hit.
