Icy Spell [Metamagic]
Prerequisites: ability to cast spells with cold descriptorBenefit: When casting a spell with the cold descriptor that has an instantaneous area of effect on it, the ground is frozen solid to a depth of 5 feet and is covered in ice. Treat creatures on the icy surface as though they were affected by a grease spell. The ice lasts for 1d4 rounds or if the ice takes 3 points of fire or physical damage. The ground remains frozen for 1d4 hours or until 10 points of fire damage is applied to the ground. Ground that is frozen solid can still be burrowed through but requires a strength check of dc 20. A icy spell takes up one spell slot higher then usual.
Example: A spellcaster casts cone of cold, the ground under the area of effect of the cone of cold is frozen solid and is slippery. Any creatures still in the cone of cold's area of effect must make a reflex saveSpecial: only usable with cold descriptor spells that have an instantaneous area of effect
