Hedge Witch
A young alchemist trained in the art by witches, allowing her to use witch's hexes and having access to limited spellcasting. While not as talented at scientific discovery as her fellow alchemists, or at spellcasting as her witch's mentor, the hedge witch can draw upon both.
Class: Alchemist
Level: 1st-20th
Replaces: Alchemy, Bomb, Mutagen
Benefit: An hedge witch gain the following class features:
Spellcasting: In addition to the alchemist list, a hedge witch has access to the witch spell list when preparing extract, witch spells of 7th level or higher don't count to be on her list. Additionally when the witch prepares an extract, she may instead prepare it as a spell. She cast her spells like a witch. Since she can cast spells, a hedge witch counts as an arcane spellcaster and has a caster level.
Instead of a formula book, a hedge witch stores her spells and extracts into a grimoire, which behave as both a spellbook and a formula book.
This ability replaces bombs and alters alchemy.
Witch Training: At 1st level, a hedge witch gains an hex as a witch of her class level. Whenever she gains an alchemist discovery she may select a witch hex instead. At 10th level she may select a major hex and at 18th level she may select grand hexes.
A hedge witch may also select the Familiar arcana as an alchemist discovery. If she does, her familiar automatically knows the content of her entire grimoire, allowing her to prepare spells without it and replacing her grimoire if it were to be destroyed or lost.
This ability replaces the mutagen class features. A hedgewitch can never gain the mutagen, cognatogen, or inspired cognatogen ability, even from a discovery or another class.
