With a great grumble, a long fleshy tube spilled forth, caustic acid dripping from its slick exterior and foul odors erupting from its great leathery mouth.

What appears to be an oversized smooth worm, it is nothing but an oversized digestive system with a hunger to match. It will eat anything and everything even remotely digestible, leaving trails of acid in its wake. For things it cannot eat but wishes its unmaking, a vomit of powerful stomach acid will do the trick.

Combat[edit]

Being one of the strongest and biggest predators of its realm, it has very little reason to fear from anything. It fights with berserker gusto, charging ahead, spewing acid when it can including all over itself and others, and swallowing all that it can. Its fast healing can undo all the work made against it if not focused on.

Acid Blood (Ex): The gastrowurm's entire system of blood and most of its organic fluids are highly caustic. Any time it takes slashing or piercing damage, it sprays any adjacent attacker with 1d6 acid damage per attack. When it dies, it erupts into a large splash of acid out to 15 ft from it dealing its breath weapon with a DC 26 Fortitude save for half, and leaves a burning pool of acid in its square in its wake as it self destructs.

Acid Reflux (Ex): Whenever the gastrowurm takes damage internally from swallowed creatures, it gets an upset stomach that only serves to infuriate it. For 1 round in the round it takes this damage it benefits from haste. This also occurs once it falls below 20% hp (50 hp or less) and lasts until this is no longer the case.

Breath Weapon (Su): The gastrowurm breathes a 100 ft line dealing 22d6 acid with a DC 26 Reflex save for half once every 1d4-1 rounds. The save is Constitution based. Its feats grant it an additional shape and lower cooldown time.

Flail (Ex): This ability can only be used if in the throes of Acid Reflux. As a full attack action it can make a single tail slap attack against all creatures in its threatened range, using its full Strength bonus. In addition if struck, creatures must make a Reflex save DC 26 or fall prone. The save is Constitution based.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a gastrowurm must hit with a claw attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity.

Parasite (Ex): The interior of a gastrowurm is a microcosm on its own, filled with worms, parasites, and alien gut flora. Those who have been swallowed must make a Fortitude save DC 26 or become infected with these parasites, which act the part of a disease. Immediately, afflicted creatures take a -2 penalty on attack rolls, AC, and on their Constitution score. Each subsequent day, they take a cumulative -2 penalty until they would fail the save to drop to -8. Instead, the penalties are removed and they immediately are reduced to 1 hp as they eject up their now living gastrointestinal track and its own parasites. They will survive due to the scar tissue produced, but unless the internal damage is regrown via regenerate or similar, they will starve to death in short order. The parasite must be treated with remove disease followed up with a Heal check DC 20 to extract the now immobilized parasites, or a heal spell or stronger effect. This counts as a disease for the purpose of immunity, but does not register as one for other purposes.

Swallow Whole (Ex): A gastrowurm can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of up to two sizes smaller by making a successful grapple check. The swallowed creature takes 3d6+8 points of half bludgeoning and half acid per round from the gastrowurm's stomach. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by using a light slashing or piercing weapon to deal 25 points of damage to the stomach (AC 19). Once the creature exits, muscular action closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out.

A Huge gastrowurm's stomach can hold 4 Medium, 16 Small, 64 Tiny, or 256 Diminutive or smaller opponents, as it has extended space inside due to its length.
