Everchanging Skin (3.5e Equipment)

Many dream of the ability to change one's aspect at will, but only magic users and some races may do it with ease. Some malevolent grafters discovered that the changeling'sRoE capability to shift their outer form to disguise themselves derives entirely from their skin. As such, one can carefully flay the skin of a changeling and apply it to another creature. The skin must not be rotten for the process to work. The grafting process is a complex operation (Heal DC 20).
A creature that has the everchanging skin graft acquires the Minor Change Shape ability of a changeling, which allows them to make minor physical alterations in order to resemble another creature, in the same way a disguise self spell works. The effect lasts until the creature desires it to change again, or if it dies which returns it to its true form.
The new skin makes the grafted creature greyish, with the grey color that mixes randomly with their original skin color, though most grafted creatures simply use their shifting ability to maintain their desired aspect.
A creature with this graft suffers a -2 to Fortitude saves that are triggered by touch (such as for contact poison or touch spells with a Fortitude save).
Special: A less cruel option requires only a patch of skin from the changeling donor, but the costs increases by 2000 gp to account for the alchemical reagents needed to make the patch of skin to grow over the entire body.
Graft Flesh (Any), disguise self; Price 7000 gp
