Drakon
Some barbarians revere dragons as totemic guardians, trying to imitate their power, others are draconic heritors or serve wyrms, thus gaining unique abilities.
Class: Barbarian In The Dungeon
Prerequisites: Charisma 13, a character that takes this alternate class feature may not take the standard barbarian class.
Level: 1
Replaces: Class Skills, Rage and its improvements, Fast Movement, Uncanny Dodge and Improved Uncanny Dodge, Savage Nature, Hazard Sense, Invigorating Passion, Damage Reduction and Tonic Passion.
Benefit: Its class skills are as follows: Balance, Bluff, Climb, Craft, Intimidate, Jump, Knowledge (arcana), Search, Spot, Survival and Swim. It gains Draconic as a bonus language.
- Dracofury: At first level it gains Dracofury. This feature works exactly like the Rage feature of a barbarian, except as it follows: while in Dracofury it gains a +4 to Strength, +2 bonus to saves against sleep effects and paralysis and +2 natural armor bonus to AC (instead of the -2 to AC). During the duration of the effect, in addition to all the other bonuses, energy surges through its body so that weapons that it wields, natural attacks and unarmed strikes inflict an extra 1d6 of energy damage (acid, cold, electricity and fire). The energy type must be chosen at the start of Dracofury and may not change during that instance. This damage increases to 2d6 at 7th level, 3d6 at 13th and 5d6 at the 19th level. Duration and daily uses are unchanged, as is the fatigued condition. This feature counts as Rage for any purpose.
- Dragontouched: In addition it gains the Dragontouched feature, gaining 1 extra hit points per level, +1 to Listen, Search and Spot checks and against sleep effects and paralysis. It may take draconic feats as a sorcerer of its class level. This counts as the Dragontouched[1] feat for any purpose.
- Draconic Prowess: At second level it gains the Draconic Prowess feature instead of Wild Prowes, adding draconic feats to the list of available feats.
- Energy Resistance: Instead of Uncanny Dodge it gains Energy Resistance, that allows it to choose one type of elemental energy (acid, cold, electricity or fire) and gains energy resistance 5 to that energy, stacking it with resistance of the same type given by race, class, template or equipment.
- Unshakable: It also gains Unshakable as a barbarian of 9th level.
- Draconic Insight: At third level it gains Draconic Insight instead of Savage Nature: it grants the drakon a bonus to Knowledge (arcana), Listen, Search and Spot checks equal to +2. These bonuses increase by one each four successive levels of drakon.
- Energy Sense: At third level it also gains the Energy Sense feature instead of Hazard Sense. This feature grants a +1 dodge bonus to Reflexes against elemental effects (acid, cold, electricity or fire). These bonuses increase by one each three successive levels, up to a +5 at 15th level. The drakon loses the bonus if it's immobilized.
- Dragon Senses: At 4th level it gains Dragon Senses: this feature allows the drakon to gain blindsense within 10 feet (3 meters). Activating it is a free action and it lasts one minute per Charisma modifier per day. The drakon is able to split the duration in multiple uses. At level 8th it increases to an area of 20 feet (6 meters) and by level 13th it gains blindsight instead. This feature replaces Invigorating Passion and Tonic Passion.
- Improved Energy Resistance: By level 5th a drakon gains Improved Energy Resistance: it may increase the previous energy resistance it chose by 5 or choose another element, gaining energy resistance 5 against it. This replaces Improved Uncanny Dodge.
- Energy Fury: At level 7th it gains Energy Fury: at the start of Dracofury the drakon may choose to gain energy resistance 5 against one energy type or increase of its existing resistances by 5. At level 12th this resistance increases to 10 and it becomes energy immunity to the chosen type at level 17th. In addition, while in Dracofury, it inflicts the same extra damage given by the fury to anyone striking it with a non-reach weapon or in direct contact with it. These effects last as long as Dracofury and may not be changed during its duration.
- Frightful Presence: At level 9th it gains the Frightful Presence feature as a dragon, but it also activates whenever the drakon falls in Dracofury. It affects creatures within 30 feet (9 meters) with less HDs than its class levels + its Constitution Modifier. The save DC to resist is 10 + half its class levels + its Strength modifier.
- Greater Dracofury: At level 11th a drakon gains Greater Dracofury, granting it a +6 to Strength, +3 natural armor to AC and +3 to saves against sleep effects and paralysis.
- Mighty Dracofury: At level 20th it gains Mighty Dracofury, granting it a +8 to Strength, +5 natural armor to AC and +4 to saves against sleep effects and paralysis.
