A multi-faceted crystal sphere hovering with thin gold rings lazily orbiting it, cloudy shapes can be seem moving within this Rune Orb.

This is a Tier II +2 Implement Divining Rune Orb, requiring the Rune Arm Legacy feat to use; Otherwise is just appears as an ornate crystal sphere with several gold rings wrapped tightly around it.

If one knows how to use it, it can be released to float by the owner's side, just like an Ioun Stone might. It remains passive until called to the owner's hand (Using the same action required to draw a weapon, usually a Swift or Move action). It can be attacked while passive; It has an AC of 18 + the number of charges remaining, 20 HP and hardness 10.

The Rune Orb has 4 charges when fully charged and regains 1 charge every 4 rounds while passive. While active (In the owner's hand), the orb grants a +1 Shield Bonus and Spell Resistance 3 per charge remaining (Max of +4 AC and SR 12 when fully charged). Each time the user is attacked, one charge is consumed as the Orb attempts to fend off the attack.

Charges can also be consumed to apply effects to magic, using the Orb as a focus to amplify the ability. Each charge consumed can grant the spell or effect one of the following: +1 Caster Level, +1 DC or +1 metamagic level. However, a maximum two charges charge can be spent on each amplification; Meaning if the Rune Orb was fully charged, you could only add up to 2 of those effects at full strength or spread the charges out among the effects. In the case of the metamagic level, you must still possess the feat and the spell level increase of the metamagic feat's use is simply reduced by 1, to a minimum of 0; if the cost is reduced to +0, then applying the metamagic doesn't increase the casting time.

Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, Rune Arm Legacy, Shield, Spell Resistance, plus any Divination spell of 2nd level or higher and Spell Focus (Divination).
Cost to Create: 30,000 gp, 2400 EXP, 60 days.
