Challenge Contender

Some martial artists push themselves higher and higher, seeking harder challenges to test their skills. These monks often have a strong code of honor, and some belong to strict martial traditions. Challenge contender also often take the martial artist archetype and usually belongs to the Order of the Flame or the Order of the Cockatrice.

Class: Monk or Unchained Monk

Level: 1st-20th

Replaces: Bonus Feats (1st, 2nd, 6th, 14th), Stunning Fist

Benefit: A challenge contender gain the following class feature.

Challenger's Heart (Ex): Any of the challenge contender’s class abilities that make calculations based on her Wisdom (including bonus feats with DCs or uses per day, such as Stunning Fist, but not Wisdom-based skills or Will saving throws) are instead based on her Charisma.

Challenge (Ex): This ability functions as the cavalier's challenge class feature, using the challenge contender's class level as her effective character level.

This ability replaces stunning fist.

Order (Ex): A challenge contender gains an order as a cavalier of her class level. She gain all benefits of her order, and must follow her order as a cavalier.

This ability replaces the bonus feat gained at 2nd, 6th and 14th.

Resolve (Ex): A challenge contender gains the resolve ability of a samurai of her class level. A challenge contender with the martial artist gains an extra use of this ability at 3rd level. A challenge contender does not gain Greater Resolve or True Resolve.
