Blood Spell [Metamagic] Prerequisites: Knowledge (Arcana) 6 ranks, any other metamagic featBenefit: As part of casting the spell, you draw from your life force. You can reduce the spell's level by up to 3, but you take Constitution burn equal to twice the level adjustment, which cannot be removed by any means, short of natural healing. Special: A Bloodcaster (Complete Arcane) knows this feat automatically upon gaining their Blood Component class feature. Casters with Blood Spell can choose to learn new spells with Blood Spell already applied, potentially in order to gain spells beyond their usual limits. Spells learned in this way do not take additional time to cast, although they cannot cast or prepare those spells without Blood Spell applied. However, they cannot learn spells of a level higher than one level higher than the highest-level spell they know without the use of other similar metamagic feats. But, they can use the other two levels of spell level reduction to add further metamagic to such a spell, increasing the Constitution penalty accordingly.
