Any ally (determined on casting) within the area of effect is rendered protected from death. They cannot fall below 40 hp (even from Con loss), and any effect which would kill them instantly such as a [Death] effect lowers their hp down to 40 hp. During its operation a magical sphere floats 20 ft high or up to the height of the roof. This sphere has 10 hp/caster level, AC 10, and if it is destroyed the spell ends prematurely. Subjects are protected before the destruction of the sphere applies.
