Character OptionsEdit
Below are the many Ancestral Magic Character Options presented in this sourcebook, from classes and races, to new subclasses for existing classes and feats.
New Class - The ShamanEdit
The Shaman is a Wisdom-based Divine Pact Magic spellcaster that focuses on conjuring other creatures to fight beside you, including a customizable "pet", the Eidolon.
Alternate Class Feature - Occult MagicEdit
For those of us that dislike the way that Pact Magic ordinarily works, the following Alternate Class Features have been presented for both Shaman and Warlock, offering the new Occult Magic feature that presents a more flexible and balanced approach to Pact Magic.
When using this Alternate Class Feature, your levels in Warlock and Shaman are added together for the purposes of determining: Your number of Arcana Points; Your Arcana Limit; And your Mystic Arcanum feature.
SubclassesEdit
The following existing subclasses capture the flavor of Ancestral Magic, though not necessarily the mechanics.
- Path of the Ancestral Guardian (Barbarian)
- College of Spirits (Bard)
New SubclassesEdit
The following new subclasses have been introduced to allow you to indulge in the flavor and features of Ancestral Magic, even if you're not a Shaman.
- Way of the Spirit Guardian (Monk) - Listen as the spirits warn you of danger, and learn to cast Shaman spells using your Ki.
- Ancestral Magic (Sorcerer) - Gain access to Shaman spells, Spell Secrets, and a Watchful Spirit to protect you.
- The Ancient (Warlock) - Learn arcane secrets from an ancient creature, like a trapped titan, broken god, or even a long-dead ancestor.
- Summoner (Wizard) - Learn new summoning spells, Evolve your Familiar, and learn to amplify your summoned creatures to new heights.
New RacesEdit
The following races are introduced into the world alongside the menagerie of playable races already available, to facilitate new character concepts that have never been seen on this side of the Veil.
- Spiritfolk - An exotic, versatile race of people, forever hanging in the balance between our world and The Other Side.
- Lost Eidolon - You are a forgotten Eidolon, given a physical form and bound to an object, instead of to a Shaman's service.
