This tiny wooden whistle, when blown, makes the sound of a small warbling perching bird.
When blown, the whistle summons a small bird (as a bat but without blindsense), where it will serve to the best of its ability for 2 hours before vanishing. The creature can be commanded as a scout or deliver a message. It can speak up to 25 words upon returning to its summoner, describing what it saw while scouting. Alternatively, it can be commanded to speak up to 25 words to a creature, creatures or location (as best as it understands). It can be summoned once per day. If the bird is killed, it vanishes and cannot be summoned again for 1 week.
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, summon nature's ally I.
