Reach weapons are often abused to double the reach of characters of Large or even Huge size. This variant attempts to fix that. Even an increased square of reach can be significant, however, and this variant attempts to capitalize on that.
Variant Reach[edit]
When using a reach weapon, increase your reach by 5', rather than doubling your reach. You are unable to make attacks with that weapon (unless it's a spiked chain or something similar) within your own square or within 5' of you.
