While they look exactly like normal vampires, Chococulas are not typical for their kind. These rare undead are said to be the creation of alchemical experiment gone awry. They are to be dreaded for their uncommon abilities, which leave many vampire hunters unable to deal with them properly. They wield the ability to possess and engulf their opponents, but their most dreaded ability is how they consume their victims. Unlike a normal vampire, a chococula do not thirst for blood, instead they crave chocolate. Especially chocolate created by their natural ability to transform their prey into delicious chocolate treats with a bite.

Combat[edit]

Like most vampires, chococulas fight with their natural abilities and make maximum uses of them. That said they will strike and cripple opponents wielding fire and fight in darkness.

Alternate Form (Su): A Chococula can assume the shape of a bat, dire bat, wolf, or dire wolf as a standard action, all made of chocolate (weakness to fire and solvent as chocolate form). While in its alternate form the Chococula gains the natural weapons and extraordinary special attacks of its new form. It can remain in that form until it assumes another or until the next sunrise.

Choco-Bite (Su): The most potent ability of the chococula is it ability to feed on mortal, by turning them into chocolate treats and devouring them. If a Chococula successfully grapple a creature with it Bite's Improved Grab and maintain a pin for at least 1 round afterward, it target must make a Fortitude save or turn into an appropriated chocolate treats as per the candy beam spell. It receive double healing from eating the chocolate treats created by this effect.

Choco-Frenzy (Ex): Upon consuming a creature turned into chocolate by it choco-bite, the Chococula gain a +12 bonus to Strength and fall under the effect of haste for 1 round per CR or ECL of the transformed creature. The effect is not cumulative, but the duration is, increasing the more creatures it consume.

Chocolate Form (Su): As a swift action, a Chococula can assume the form of a puddle of chocolate. This form function as a gaseous form except with no fly speed, instead it gain a land speed and swim speed. In this form it gain DR 10/- but is vulnerable to fire. In addition water and other solvent deal 1d6 damage on contact to the Chococula and 10d6 damage for full immersion. If the puddle is dealt enough fire damage, it become molten and deal 1d6 fire damage to every creature in contact for 1 round per 10 fire damage the Chococula received.

Engulf (Ex): As a move action, a Chococula in chocolate form can completely engulf a target in it space. It is allowed a Reflex save to negate, otherwise it is considered entangled and held down as well as pinned for 1 round. If the chocolate was molten the engulfed creature also take 10d6 fire damage. A successful reflex save negate the engulfing attempt.

Possession (Ex): A Chococula in chocolate form can enter the body of a creature it engulfed by entering it mouth and assume direct control. Once per round, a chococula is able to possess a corporeal creature much like magic jar, except that it does not require a receptacle. The Chococula need to be engulfing the target and it is allowed a Fortitude save to negate. If the possession fail the Chococula materialize in a square adjacent to the creature it attempted to possess as is unable to take any action until the beginning of it next turn. The creature it attempted to possess is immune to further possession attempt for 24 hours. If a creature's mouth is inaccessible it is immune to this ability.

Weakness to Sunlight (Su): If a Chococula is directly exposed to sunlight, it will start melting slowly by surely. At the start of it turn if it exposed to direct sunlight (and not a daylight spell or similar effect) it will take 1 point of Dexterity penalty and 1d6 points of fire damage. While in sunlight it fast healing is suppressed until it spend at least 1 minute not in direct sunlight. The Dexterity penalty vanish at the rate of 1 per minute.
