Cite Pub[edit]

Hello! Lately I have noticed, that Template:Cite Pub shows "Canon:" with the author names instead of repressing that. (See e. g. Canon:Special Materials.) Do you happen to have an idea what is wrong? Thanks a lot! Daranios 18:20, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

I pointed the author pages into the canon namespace to cut down on needed redirects, and forgot to set it to not display the namespace. Fixed tho, thanks for catching it. - Tarkisflux Talk 18:31, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
That was fast :-). Great! Thanks. Daranios 18:37, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

Missing headers and footers[edit]

I'd run into the bug where the header and footer are missing from the preloads. It used to be rare, but it's pretty much 100% occurring now. Is there a way to fix this? -- Eiji-kun (talk) 04:54, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

It was a change in the way that the backend handles preload text. I think all you need to do is edit the preload to have a <onlyinclude> at the top of it and you should be set. So if you find a preload that doesn't have it, add it. - Tarkisflux Talk 19:22, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Legend Format Request[edit]

One concept in Legend is the idea of Racial tracks. This basically provides both a typical Race and a Track as one package. It would be helpful to have a template set up to make this easy to do. I'm not sure if it should be a separate race and track page with links between them or a combined page with the features of both, but some way to create them would be appreciated

No problem. I don't imagine they're made many changes to the format since March (the date on the last pdf I downloaded from them), but I'll grab a new copy and see what format they have for it. Might be a few days before a working template is up though. - Tarkisflux Talk 05:54, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
Looks like it does race + class progression + track all in one package. I think that doing a separate template for the race block, the class block above the progression, and the track would work best, and then just we can just stick those all in the same page to get a racial track out of it. I was probably going to do templates for those other ones anyway, so this isn't a big deal. Will probably take a few days to get it all put together nicely. - Tarkisflux Talk 06:05, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
Great. Sounds good.Mystify (talk) 06:19, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
So, by days I guess I meant 1. It should be all sorted (except bugs that I haven't found), along with a faster way to put standard format classes up. The racial and class templates do a fair job of matching the book format for the blocks as well. Let me know if you would like anything else worked up, though I hope these will keep you busy for a bit. - Tarkisflux Talk 21:32, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
There was also a request for a place for variant rules--how would we implement those? --Ghostwheel (talk) 08:12, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh, there's also been a request for the AuthorProtect extension of mediawiki to dispel the fears of authorship voiced by some of the other users on the forums; would that be possible/allowable? --Ghostwheel (talk) 12:06, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
I'd rather be able to see this discussion taking place, and response to it, myself. While we have strong author protections already implemented, I think that's going a bit too far so I'd prefer to talk it out with the people making the request. Surgo (talk) 14:57, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
Variant Rules - the same way we implemented the other homebrew pages? It's just a nav page with a well formatted query, a "make new" page and a preload. Unless there's some reason it should be more complicated that that.
+1 what Surgo said on the extension. I'm not opposed to it off hand, though I question it's necessity and utility. I'd like to actually talk to the people making the request first. - Tarkisflux Talk 16:33, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
We have been discussing the Bab/saves tables, and decides that filling them out manually is a huge hassle for no gain. All BaB progressions are either fast or slow(3/4), and you always have 2 good saves and 1 bad save(though perhaps with a choice of which saves are which). Filling in 80 numbers based on this is pointless. We would like auto-generated tables, or if that is not feasible, no tables at all, and just specify the progressions. Mystify (talk) 23:25, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
Well, if you always want the same number of columns, it would probably be pretty easy to make a template for the tables. --Foxwarrior (talk) 23:27, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
If you're using the Add New pages, use the button with the (Simple Preload) on the button. You specify the progression from the options available, and it will auto-generate it for you. You still have to fill in the assorted level benefits though. Sorry I didn't point that out earlier, I sorta figured someone would just stumble across it. - Tarkisflux Talk 23:32, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
There is also one of these for racial tracks, found in the same way. I can give you the name of the preload pages if you'd prefer. - Tarkisflux Talk 23:36, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
That is lovely, thank you. Though the table on the racial preload has 3 track columns, when it only needs 1. Mystify (talk) 23:37, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
Yay bugs - the wrong template name was in the preload. Should be fixed now. - Tarkisflux Talk 23:45, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

TOP and movement speeds[edit]

I just had a clarification question. I am planning on using the Tome of Prowess rules for my Emerald Sun campaign setting, and while I noticed that the cap for skill bonuses outside of ability modifiers and skill ranks was +3, I couldn't find anything for how that applies to movement speeds, like Swim or Climb (governed I assume by Athletics). As far as I can tell, it seems that the normal +3 limit applies to these checks (maybe limited only to that use of Athletics and not the other), but you can still take 10 on checks as normal. Is this the case, or have I missed something?

The skill bonuses to Athletics are limited in the same way as every other skill bonus in the system - i.e. level + 3 max ranks + up to 3 more from competence + attribute modifier. The thing with those (and Jump to some degree) is that the movement speed you get in the alternate mode is based on your on your check result and on your base land speed. So a better check result will allow you to use more of your base land speed to climb or swim, but being straight up faster will do the same thing with a worse check. You can stack both fast movement and good checks to get a lot of distance, so some of the fastest swimmers and climbers at level 1 are monks and barbarians. You can take 10 on those checks as normal (not under pressure or have 4 ranks more than the minimum needed). Aside from taking base land speed as an input, they follow all the other rules for skills set forth there.
Hope that helps. If that doesn't come across in the text, I can go clean it up a bit. - Tarkisflux Talk 00:27, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I should have been more specific about what I was asking. What I was unsure about was how the new skill bonus maximum impacted creatures that possess a Climb or Swim speed, such as kuo-toa, monstrous spiders, or a humanoid under the effect of a spell that grants a climb or swim speed, etc. Do they still have the +3 maximum to Athletics checks, and is it limited only to movement speeds they possess (i.e. +3 to Athletics checks made to swim for a shark, but not climb), since in the base rule they have a +8 racial bonus to such checks. I would imagine that the taking 10 even when hurried or distracted still applies. I have a species with a Swim speed, and I was unsure how the new rules would apply here. Paleomancer (talk) 17:15, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Ah, sorry for not getting what you were asking. There is a special exception for bonuses from movement speeds in the climb and swim writeups that includes the +8 bonus (untyped even, because I wasn't paying attention I guess), but that was basically grandfathered in and I'm not sure I even need it. Let me ponder that for a couple of hours and get back to you. - Tarkisflux Talk 17:45, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Sections updated to no longer give a bonus, but flat virtual ranks that they will probably not use that often. Please let me know if it's still not clear. - Tarkisflux Talk 21:38, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Magician Query[edit]

On your comments for the Magician class, you mention that "The class is interesting, and a fairly good wizard replacement (aside from the sorcerer delayed progression)." Do you think that it would be appropriate to adjust the spell progression to that of a wizard, rather than sorcerer? Paleomancer (talk) 22:44, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

I'm not a fan of the delayed sorcerer progression in general, but mostly because it's slower than other available classes for no good reason. It's not like it's a bad progression on its face though. If those other classes aren't available, because "campaign setting restriction" or whatever, then it's fine. Whether it's appropriate or not depends on what balance you're shooting for and what the progression for other casters in your campaign setting is.
So, 'maybe' I guess. - Tarkisflux Talk 23:58, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Martial Preload Thinger[edit]

Ah, sorry I messed it up, but as an FYI I altered it because it's doing that missing heading/footer thing. It seems to be related to the onlyincludes. I'm dead tired, maybe you can figure out how to fix. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 20:48, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Got it, will mess about with it. - Tarkisflux Talk 20:59, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Sorted. Had the wrong include tag up there. Should have been <onlyinclude> to start instead of the other one. Sorry about that. Bot should be fixing the bad preloads already. - Tarkisflux Talk 21:04, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
While we're on the subject, the word "prerequisites" is misspelled in every preload where it appears, and the poison preload is just horribly coded, with no author box, categories, or breadcrumbs. Also, I'd really appreciate pointers on how to get the "spells prepared" block to show up for Mew and the "spells known" block to show up for Mysto. --Luigifan18 (talk) 22:20, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
The poison preload was one of the broken ones that should have just been fixed. So if you checked before a couple of hours ago, I would expect it to be working already. I'll look into doing a text replace to correct the spelling on prereq, but if you could leave me with a list of wrongly spelled instances (the word, not the preload it appears in) that would help the process along.
I'll go stare at the monster and NPC blocks again to get you that info. They were weird last time I looked. - Tarkisflux Talk 22:25, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. The misspelling is "prerequistes". --Luigifan18 (talk) 22:32, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Bot replacement is a go for spelling fixes. Relevant blocks should be showing in the linked pages. Additional information can be found here. One of these years I really need to rewrite that whole template. - Tarkisflux Talk 22:40, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. But in the martial maneuver templates (and perhaps a few others), why is the onlyinclude tag before the author box? --Luigifan18 (talk) 03:51, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
In the actual preload page (like 3.5e Maneuver Preload), or in the stuff that gets loaded after you fill in the box and hit the button to get the preload text in your new page? The former is to make the preload in page thing work, and the latter shouldn't be happening. Needs more details / examples. - Tarkisflux Talk 05:08, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Never mind, I was thinking of the monster and epic spell preloads. By the way, we need a soulmeld preload. --Luigifan18 (talk) 01:38, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

→Reverted indentation to one colon

Oh, wait, the equipment preloads also have that problem. (And there's still no soulmeld preload.) --Luigifan18 (talk) 21:37, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
I'll get around to them. Have other things I'm working on today, in addition to barely working. - Tarkisflux Talk 22:10, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
Just noticed the recent changes - thanks. --Luigifan18 (talk) 04:52, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

Rating based off Merit[edit]

Thank you for clarifying that on the rating page, it needed to be done.--Franken Kesey (talk) 20:08, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Tome of Prowess and familiar abilities[edit]

With the +3 maximum bonus to any skill, there are a few oddities with familiars that now become an issue. Alertness as a feat is no longer valid, since both are combined into Perception, and Skill Focus (Perception) would be far better. Also, a number of familiars grant bonuses on Spot or Listen, which no longer stack with any other bonus. I like the idea of familiars, even if they need a little work to be more valuable, and wasn't sure what you thought would be a good solution for this. Thanks!Paleomancer (talk) 20:08, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

I had not considered those interactions, so I will do so now. Thanks for pointing them out.
Also, I would prefer it if you could leave these sorts of concerns on the ToP talk page instead of my talk. It's easier to track why certain changes get made that way. It's not really a bit deal, just a preference one. - Tarkisflux Talk 23:16, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

Breadcrumb design?[edit]

Hey! I just designed a new martial discipline, but its breadcrumb does't work! Could you please fix it and point out what I did wrong? Thanks. --Luigifan18 (talk) 03:49, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

The error was on my end. I forgot to put in the word "breadcrumb", herp derp. --Luigifan18 (talk) 04:03, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Some help, please?[edit]

I've been working on a quest titled "Sapphire Showdown", but can't seem to get past the introduction phase. Also, I've designed a spell called "Dark Sun Rising" that I am... not happy with. Do you have any ideas? --Luigifan18 (talk) 05:29, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Spell list adjustments?[edit]

Hey! I've set up homebrew spell lists for a bunch of non-SRD classes - namely the wu jen, shuenja, and blighter. However, I would like to have the wu jen and shuenja lists organized like in their source material. Could you please help me with that?

In a while. I'll have extremely limited time for a while due to external factors, and this is pretty low priority for me. - Tarkisflux Talk 04:50, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Yeah... having looked at these caster lists I can say that this will not be happening anytime soon. Mostly because of technical limitations in SMW queries. Feel free to ask if you want the technical bits, but I'll skip them for now. I'll take another look after the next SMW upgrade, assuming the specific issue has been resolved. - Tarkisflux Talk 05:53, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
SMW? What's that? --Luigifan18 (talk) 15:14, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
"Semantic Media Wiki" is the extension that we use for our automated list generation. It has a query bug that would make duplicating those lists difficult / potentially misleading.
[Edit] But in the meantime, I can swap out the templates to make them a bit more natural looking. So I did that. - Tarkisflux Talk 20:16, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

Hivemaster variant and hivemaster feats[edit]

I am new to the wiki, as you know, and am not entirely sure what I'm doing. I wanted to change a few things about the class, mostly in the form of lowering the power of the class. I wasn't sure that a variant was the best way to do it, but I didn't know there were really other options, including the ACF option (which I though was mostly for an alternate ability of roughly equal power [correct me if I'm wrong]). I'm still making changes to the variant (as it exists now). I had also planned to change the Hivemaster feats accordingly. I wasn't sure exactly how to go about doing that other than making duplicates of the ones that I feel need changes to fit better with the changed class. If you have more input, I'd love to hear it. Thanks for the help so far. --Mr. Lieutenant Time Bonkers (talk) 05:28, 17 February 2013 (EST)

Spellcasting Dabbler and Associated Path[edit]

I rather like the idea of the spellcasting dabbler feat path, but I am having some trouble understanding the ruling concerning the spellcasting level cap. In the Spellcasting Dabbler feat, for example, you state "If you advance beyond 5th level in spellcasting ability, you remain limited to 14th level spellcasting until you select a feat that allows you to progress farther. Your caster level is equal to your total levels in classes that do not grant spellcasting, but is similarly capped at a maximum of 5 until you select a feat that allows further progress." Does this mean a character's spellcasting is capped at 5th level, or 14th (both barring the selection of Amateur Spellcater and so on)? Dogurasu (talk) 02:37, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

It was supposed to be 5th, but I failed to update all of the numbers when I copied them from the higher level ability. They should be corrected now though, sorry about that. - Tarkisflux Talk 04:12, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Possible Ratings Bug[edit]

When I try to change what I desire my rating judgment to be to anything from the default of Favor, the rating box is dismissed. I don't know if this is a problem specific to me or a bug within the template, so I'm letting you know in case anything needs to be tested. - TG Cid (talk) 05:49, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Can you confirm that your browser is fully updated, provide the browser name and version, and maybe test in a different browser? - Tarkisflux Talk 06:58, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
It's because you're clicking on the choice. Use the keyboard instead, ThunderGod Cid. --Foxwarrior (talk) 18:29, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Bot account[edit]

Thanks for the offer! I am not bothered that the import stuff and the editing stuff go together, however, so if does not cause trouble otherwise I am fine to leave it as it is. Surgo hinted that he might get a solution that automatically imports new stuff into the DnDWiki namespace instead of the Main one - so if this works out the situation will be different for future imports anyway. Daranios (talk) 08:30, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Publication[edit]

Thanks a lot for fixing the infobox - now it's perfect! As all my syntax knowledge comes from learning by doing, I would not have gotten that right by my trial and error. Daranios (talk)

It took me a lot of trial and error to figure that out the first time, so I'm happy to save you a bit of trouble. Formatting with if statements sucks in wiki code. - Tarkisflux Talk 16:33, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Cats![edit]

Still think I am a bot? --Mr. Gaunt (talk) 23:36, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

??? I'm not really sure when I ever thought you were a bot. - Tarkisflux Talk 00:26, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
I did not know if the selection of cats (whenever editing) was for new users, or a new policy for all. --Mr. Gaunt (talk) 01:22, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
We use that as our capcha to keep bots out, yes, but it's not intended to annoy users. If you're still seeing it you'll need to authenticate an email address (found in the "My Preferences" section); we can't manually add users to the "don't see cats" group for some technical reason I don't understand :-/. - Tarkisflux Talk 01:34, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Have sent it multiple times, checked if e-mail was correct, but not seeing in inbox (for past hour). --Mr. Gaunt (talk) 03:55, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
I just had another one sent to me, and it came through without a problem in less than a minute. You may want to check your spam / bulk / whatever folder in case it's being shunted off. It will come from admin(at)dnd-wiki(dot)org, in case you want to whitelist it. - Tarkisflux Talk 05:22, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Edit: It went into my normal hotmail inbox just fine, but went into the gmail spam box. It should show as mail from "MediaWiki Mail" in the inbox. - Tarkisflux Talk 05:27, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Just made a yahoo account, may move to a better one. Hotmail has reigned supreme in organization, security, and minimal adds for so long. Why did the internet have to destroy such a good thing. --Mr. Gaunt (talk) 05:50, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Adoption[edit]

Can I get your get your blessing to adopt the S'uuisku (3.5e Race) page? --Franken Kesey (talk) 15:24, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Blessing granted, since no one (particularly the author) seems to have noticed or objected to the original request many months ago. Do you need author template parameter assistance? - Tarkisflux Talk 21:58, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Rating Versions[edit]

Had a question, I do not intend to change the two variant judge (magic or psionic) – should the ratings be retained on the variants? --Franken Kesey (talk) 20:48, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

You probably should retain the ratings on the variants, since they were added for them originally. - Tarkisflux Talk 21:04, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

Time to do a favorite bulb[edit]

Way point style teleportation just got the mark you should do the writeup since it endet up being 95+% your creation, and gratz Wildmage Talk 19:42, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Yup, I saw it. And congratulations to you as well. It needs to sit for a few days before it gets officially added though, so I haven't been worried about it. Feel free to write the blurb if you want though, I have no idea what I'd say in it off hand (directions are here if you need them).
And that percentage is a lot too high. We had basically the same idea and merged things, and I did extension bits while you did the monster update that I totally forgot about. Even though I did most of the writing in the end, I still consider it a near even split from a conceptual standpoint. So... 4/4, would co-author with user again. - Tarkisflux Talk 20:55, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Tran trio[edit]

Hey. Luigifan18 here. I just wanted to know what you think of my Tran trio - Frostran, Voltran, and Heatran. --Luigifan18 (talk) 02:17, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

I may take a look in a day or 3, but I'm not a pokemans guy so I have no idea if they fit the source or not. - Tarkisflux Talk 05:23, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Heatran is the only one of the Tran trio that's an actual Pokémon - I came up with Voltran and Frostran myself. Warning; you will need an account at Pokémon Online to follow the Voltran and Frostran links!) Voltran was inspired by a thundercloud I witnessed flashing like a strobe light (I was playing Pokémon Pearl and training my Heatran at the time), while Frostran was created simply to complete the fire-ice-lightning trio. --Luigifan18 (talk) 18:29, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Pokémon Online's groups are now defunct, so Voltran and Frostran can no longer be viewed there. Thankfully, I recently discovered a wonderful site called Dropbox that can store files direct from a computer and allow it to be viewed by the public. And because I archive all of my stuff, I was able to get my custom Pokémon, including Voltran and Frostran, onto Dropbox so anyone can see them. The links are here (Voltran) and here (Frostran). --Luigifan18 (talk) 03:25, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Semantic Search[edit]

Any chance I could get some help with using the Semantic Search function?

Also, I notice you have an extant re-rating request for the safir; is there any chance you could resolve that? ;) Halian (talk) 09:57, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

What sort of help did you need? There's pretty detailed help over here, or I can provide a bit of basic stuff to get you moving. You'll need to be a bit more specific though.
And that re-rating request was added by me to remind me to keep an eye on the page... for some reason that I've forgotten. Since it looks like you've notified people of the blocks and have cleaned things up a bit, I don't think I need it up there anymore. - Tarkisflux Talk 15:53, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
I see that, but you didn't actually rerate it. :( Also I can't for the life of me figure out how to search for stuff by wiki-specific metrics, e.g. LA 0 3.5e races with ratings of 3 or higher.
I didn't rate it in the first place, so re-rating seems a bit much. I may rate it at some point, but it seems like you've already got a lot of commentary on it and don't need eyes so much.
For the semantic search, you want to put your selection criteria in the Query box. Each selection option is either a category or a property. Categories are added in the straightforward [[Category:< name >]] format, while properties are added in the more complex [[< property name >::< property value >]] format. These are all case sensitive, so be careful. You can also do wildcard things with property values, but we'll skip that for now. If you wanted to see the property values for items in your selection, you put those properties in the other box at the top one per line. :::Since there aren't any 3.5e LA 0 Races with >=3 rating (and the rating property doesn't do numeric comparisons for technical reasons), we'll just display all of the 3.5e LA 0 races and show their rating in the results so you can skim them. You'd want <nowiki>[[Category:3.5e]] [[Category:Race]] [[Level Adjustment::0]] in the query box and Ratings in the display box (and you can also add Ratings to the Sort field below, if you want them organized by rating rather than title). Which looks like this (that link was really annoying to encode properly).
Hopefully that description and example gets you set to do your own semantic searches, and if not go ahead and let me know what's tripping you up. - Tarkisflux Talk 16:22, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Formatting Trouble[edit]

Hey, I've got a problem. I recently designed three maneuvers for the Organic Repast discipline - Enzyme Claw, Enzyme Core, and Molecular Bomb. None of the three are showing up on the Organic Repast page, and I have no idea why. Do you think you can fix the problem for me? --Luigifan18 (talk) 20:12, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Really? I totally see them there :-). Next to the View History link there is a dropdown with a "Refresh" option. Just click that to refresh generated content. --Aarnott (talk) 20:42, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Oh. That worked. I dunno why F5 didn't, though. Thanks anyways. --Luigifan18 (talk) 21:24, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
F5 doesn't work because the wiki has some optimizations to cache generated content on the server-side so it doesn't have to remake it every time the page is viewed. The Refresh link tells the wiki to clear its cached copy and remake it. --Aarnott (talk) 22:56, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

How to do Sandboxes?[edit]

I'm thinking of starting a very ambitious project, so I was hoping to put it in a sandbox to keep it from the molestation of "INCOMPLETE" taggers. I've seen that many users have successfully created a page that says "User:.../Sandbox/..." but I don't know how to make one of those. So, how do you do it? --Nolanf (talk) 23:25, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

We have a help page for that, but in case you don't feel like clicking here's the gist of it. There are 4 main ways to create a sandbox:
  1. When you make the page with the preload, just put in "User:Nolanf/<sandboxname>" as the name and save it as normal.
  2. Move an existing page to the User namespace (there's a dropdown) and name it "Nolanf/<sandboxname>".
  3. Make a link on your user page to an empty page, like [[User:Nolanf/<sandboxname>]] or [[/<sandboxname>]]. Then click through the red link, and fill in the page.
  4. Navigate to an empty page directly by typing the URL in your address bar, if you know enough about wiki structure and page addressing to do that.
Whichever you choose, make sure you create a link to the sandbox on your user page like [[User:Nolanf/<sandboxname>]] or [[/<sandboxname>]] so you don't lose it. Any subpages of your user page will need similar absolute or relative addressing so they don't get lost, but you could have sub-sub-sub-sub-subpages of your user page as a sandbox if you really want to. - Tarkisflux Talk 23:52, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

E-Mail confirmation[edit]

Good evening good Sir,

I'm having trouble confirming my email address. For some reason I never receive any confirmation mail whatsoever I fill in as email address. Thank you for your time and a happy thanksgiving. --Theaitetos (talk) 00:26, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

The mail server is sending out the confirmations, but it's possible that it's being eaten by your email provider. You can either check your spam/bulk mailbox for the email or add [email protected] to your email whitelist. You may need to re-request a confirmation email though. - Tarkisflux Talk 21:35, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

Technical Mumbo Jumbo[edit]

While doing some admin cleaning stuff earlier, I noticed the little notice up top about "Please confirm that you intend to do this..." had a red link in it. Well, after searching, I still have no idea how to fix that red link (it basically needs to be Dungeons and Dragons Wiki:Deletion Policy instead of "Dungeons and Dragons Wiki:Policy" (which was a happy little redirect, until you deleted it quite some time ago). Help a guy out, perhaps? --Ganteka Future (talk) 20:25, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

My guess is that it's a page defined by a server variable, and that just re-creating the page as a redirect to where it needs to go is the easiest way to resolve it. But since I'm not really sure what you were looking at, it's hard to say for sure. What admin stuff were you doing Gan, and can I gets a link? - Tarkisflux Talk 22:16, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
I'm dumb. I probably should have mentioned that red link is in the text that appears at the top of the page when you go to delete stuff. --Ganteka Future (talk) 22:19, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
