If you want a rogue-level generic caster to replace spellcasters, might the thaumaturge fit your needs? --Ghostwheel (talk) 23:37, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
- That it might... thanks for the recommendation. I will probably want your feedback on making more campaign-specific paths, and on using different attribute scores (like Wisdom or Intelligence, or even some skill-related competency). I'm trying to going for a Masque of the Red Death/Ravenloft approach with elements of the Cthulhu mythos, so magic is not necessarily as overpowering as in regular D&D. Paths might be geared more towards professions or patrons: occultist (scholar), spiritualist (ghosts), cultist (extrastellar horrors), or animist (wilderness/land spirits), or the King in Yellow, Father Kraken, Mother of Monsters, the Howling Devourer, etc. Or possible several related paths granted by a given patron. - Sure, that could certainly work. --Ghostwheel (talk) 01:45, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
