There are so many ... How can I possibly grab the right one?
An Ioun Swarm is a collection of 20 or more orbiting Ioun Stones consisting of at least 95% burned out stones. The shear numbers prevent any sort of attack on an individual stone effectively protecting the functioning ones.
When attacking a swarm you can not target the active ones so any hit other than a critical is a hit on a burned out stone. Any physical attack on a swarm results 1d6+1 dmg for every 20 stones in the swarm up to 5d6+6 as if they entered a swarm's square. Area of effect attacks destroy the burned out stones first, after which the active Ioun Stones each get a save until the AoE dmg dice are exhausted.
An intelligent swarm (having an intelligent stone as it's nucleus instead of a person's head) gains an attack range as a ray equal to it's intelligence bonus times 10' after which it can then pull itself to that point like an amoeba.
