Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the bodyshifter.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A bodyshifter is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, all shields (except tower shields) but no armor.

Shift Points: Bodyshifters possess a number of shift points which she may invest between various Bodyshifts and bodymorphs. Her shift points are never expended; instead they are invested between these abilities.

AC Bonus (Ex): A bodyshifter gains an armor bonus to AC equal to 4 + 1/2 Class level.

Unarmed Strike: At 1st level, a bodyshifter gains Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat. A bodyshifter’s attacks may be with either fist interchangeably or even from elbows, knees, and feet. This means that a bodyshifter may even make unarmed strikes with her hands full. There is no such thing as an off-hand attack for a bodyshifter striking unarmed. A bodyshifter may thus apply her full Strength bonus on damage rolls for all her unarmed strikes.

Usually a bodyshifter’s unarmed strikes deal lethal damage, but she can choose to deal nonlethal damage instead with no penalty on her attack roll. She has the same choice to deal lethal or nonlethal damage while grappling.

A bodyshifter’s unarmed strike is treated both as a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that enhance or improve either manufactured weapons or natural weapons.

A bodyshifter also deals more damage with her unarmed strikes than a normal person would, as shown on Table: The Bodyshifter. The unarmed damage on Table: The Bodyshifter is for Medium bodyshifter. A Small bodyshifter deals less damage than the amount given there with her unarmed attacks, while a Large bodyshifter deals more damage; see Table: Bodyshifter Unarmed Damage by Size.

Bodyshift (Su): The eponymous ability of a bodyshifter, allowing them to manipulate their body in otherwise unthinkable ways. A bodyshifter only has a single active bodyshift, and may switch between them as a swift action. An active bodyshift remains in place until changed, or if the bodyshifter dies.

The effectiveness of a bodyshift depends on the amount of shift point invested into them. A bodyshifter may allocate or reallocate all of her available points by meditating for 10 minutes. The bodyshifter cannot invest more points in each bodyshift than 1 + 1/3rd her class level.

A bodyshifter starts knowing a single bodyshift at 1st and learns another at 2nd level and 4th and each 4 levels thereafter, selecting them from the list below.

Bodymorph (Su): The bodyshifter also possesses the ability to make minor alterations to her body. Unlike bodyshifts, she may have as many bodymorphs active at the same time as she pleases. However unlike a bodyshift, she must invest an amount of shift point into them to activate them and cannot be augmented further. The amount of shift point needed to activate a bodymorph is written in parentheses next to the bodymorph.

Unlike a bodyshift, you may reallocate all points invested in a bodymorph as a move action. Similarly, they remain in place until you reallocate the points into them or die. The bodyshifter cannot reinvest points invested into a bodymorph to a bodyshift, or vise versa.

Unlike bodyshifts, the bodyshifter knows all bodymorphs available to her from the start:

Adaptive Eyesight (1): The bodyshifter's vision become much more powerful, granting herself a bonus on Spot equal to half her level, low-light vision and darkvision 60 ft. If she already had darkvision, she instead increase the range of her darkvision by 60 ft.
Big Hand (2): The bodyshifter gain the benefits of Oversize Grip even if she does not meet the prerequisites. Additionally, she counts as one size category larger for the purpose of calculating her unarmed strike damage.
Big Head (1): The bodyshifter is constantly under the effect of big head mode.
Cosmetic Morph (1): The bodyshifter can changes her appearance radically. She may make cosmetic changes to herself within the limits of the disguise self spell, except that the changes are phsyical and the bodyshifter cannot alter her clothes.
Chameleon Skin (2): The bodyshifter gain the ability to blend in her surrounding, granting her a +4 bonus to Hide. If she stand completely still for 3 rounds she gain the ability to hide without cover and concealment with +8 bonus instead.
Fast Legs (2): The bodyshifter's base land speed increases by 10 feet.
Flexible Spine (1): The bodyshifter gains the benefits of the Flexible feat even if she does not meet the prerequisites.
Merform (3): The bodyshifter is constantly under the effects of merform.
Suction Cups (2): The bodyshifter is constantly under the effect of spider climb.
Superstrong Legs (2): The bodyshifter gains a +20 bonus on Jump checks. She adds the distance she may use Extend Limbs to the distance traveled with each jump.

Masterwork Body (Ex): A 1st level bodyshifter receives Masterwork Body as a bonus feat.

Shapechanger (Ex): A 1st level bodyshifter gain the Shapechanger subtype.

Extend Limbs (Su): A 2nd level the bodyshifter has learned how to extend her limbs, this allows her to manipulate objects around her up to 20 feet outside of her reach. While she may manipulate objects (such as dragging a box or activating a lever), she is unable to use this ability to attack or activate magic items. The distance she can extend her limbs doubles at 7th level and each 5 levels thereafter.

Efficient Physique (Ex): At 3rd level the bodyshifter become immune to the Fatigued condition. If she is made Exhausted she takes penalty as if she was Fatigued.

Morphic Endurance: A 3rd level bodyshifter gains Endurance as a bonus feats, the bonus granted by endurance increases by +1 at 5th level and each five levels thereafter.

Variable Build (Su): A 3rd level bodyshifter gains both powerful build and slight build (counting as either a size larger or smaller) as her form shift whenever it would be advantageous.

Morphic Reach (Ex): At 8th and 16th level, the bodyshifter's natural reach increases by 5'.

Shifting Resistance (Ex): A 5th level bodyshifter become immune to effect which change her shape against her will, such as polymoprh spells and petrification. She may also always revert to her native form as a move action.

Variable Adaptation (Su): At 5th level the bodyshifter is capable of spontaneously adapting to her environment, growing gills underwater or a heatproof skin in an extremely hot environment. After staying 3 consecutive rounds in a particular environment, she adapts to it as per adapt body. Despite being able to adapt to almost anything she still may still need to breath and thus might still suffocate in airless environments.

At 15th level she adapts to her environment instantaneously.

Mettle (Ex): A 6th level bodyshifter gains the benefits of mettle as an hexbladeCW, but only for Fortitude saves.

Shed Skin (Su): As a move action, the 7th level bodyshifter can shed her skin to remove negative effects. At the start of her next turn she is cured of negative effects with a non-permanent duration and she heal hit points, ability damage and burn as if she rested 8 hours. She make shed her skin even if she normally could not take a move action, such as while being stunned.

Shedding her skin has drawback as well, doing so require 1 shift point which become unavailable for 1 hour.

Fortified Body (Ex): A 10th level bodyshifter has such a control over her body that she can shift her internal organs out of harm's way and control her immune system perfectly. She becomes immune to critical hits, diseases and poisons.

Extraordinary Shifts (Ex): An 11th level bodyshifter's supernatural class features become extraordinary.

Timeless Body (Ex): A 13th level bodyshifter gain Timeless Body as a druid.

Primordial Soup (Ex): When a 14th level bodyshifter dies, her body decays into a strange ooze-like soup within 1d4 days of death. The soup is treated as acid but only for biological creatures. If it is left to it own devices for at least a year however, the bodyshifter emerges from it with a new body identical to her old one and the soup dissolves. The soup can be used as a focus for any resurrection spell, removing any level loss or penalty from being resurrected. Any creature dissolved in the pool become part of it, speeding up the process by a number of days equal to it CR.

If the bodyshifter died of old age or cannot otherwise be resurrected the bodyshifter's body still dissolve into soup but never allow the bodyshifter to come back until she is able to be brought back to life again. The pool may be disrupted or destroyed, forcing the bodyshifter to be raised in a more conventional manner.

Dual Shift (Ex): A 15th level bodyshifter may now use two bodyshifts at the same time instead of one.

Biological Renewal (Ex): The 19th level bodyshifter's body is capable of making a mockery of death. She may use her Shed Skin ability to return from the dead, upon doing so she is brought back to life as per true resurrection. The process require 5 rounds, which the Bodyshifter's remaining cells clump together and start growing. Any damage dealt to the clump is dealt to the resurrected bodyshifter, if enough damage is done to kill her again the attempted regeneration fail. The bodyshifter may try again with another use of Shed Skin.

In order to use this ability the bodyshifter must have at least one or more cell still in existence, so effects which destroy her utterly make her completely unable to come back this way.

Evershifting Chaos (Ex): A 20th level bodyshifter may redistribute her shift points between her body shift and/or bodymorph as a free action once per round.

List of Bodyshifts[edit]

The Bodyshifter learn her bodyshift from the following list. All bodyshift's augments are cumulative with each other unless specifically mentioned otherwise.

Amorphous Form: The bodyshifter's shift the matter of her body, turning it into amorphous jelly instead of skin, flesh and bone. The transformation may or may not be readily apparent. She gains all immunities of ooze except mind-affecting effects given that she is not mindless. Additionally, in this form, she can more readily change her shape, allowing her to count as four size categories smaller for the purpose of squeezing through tight spaces.

Augment: For each shift point the bodyshifter invests, she may select one of the abilities below:

Digestive Cells: The bodyshifter's cells all become capable of digestion, much like an ooze. She may deal 2d6 damage to any creature which come in bodily contact with her (through her unarmed attack, using an unarmed attack on the bodyshifter, being grappled, grappling, etc).
Objectmorph: The bodyshifter may alter her shape further, she may turn into objects as per objectmorph (self only)
Mutable Bodymorph: The bodyshifter gain a single floating shifting point which may be invested in any bodymorph as a free action. She may select this augment multiple times gaining an additional floating shift point each time.

If she invest three or more points she may also select from the list below:

Absorbing Cells: Any creature killed by the acid damage of Digestive Cells are absorbed into her form, healing her for a number of hit points equal to the creature's HD. All of the creature's equipment drops on the ground. However, she may decide upon absorption to automatically equip any number of them as a free action, assuming the appropriate body slots are free. A creature killed by Absorbing Cells are completely absorbed into your body and thus leave no corpse behind. This augment require the Digestive Cells upgrade.
Gaseous Form: The bodyshifter gains the ability to use greater gaseous form at will (self only).
Mimic Morph: The bodyshifter gains the ability to replicate mimic morph at will. This augment requires Objectmorph.

Dense Body: The bodyshifter becomes one size category smaller as per reduce person. However, her weight does not change and she do not take a penalty to Strength. While in this bodyshift she gains DR 3/— and stability (as a dwarf).

Augment: For each shift point the bodyshifter invests in this bodyshift, the DR/— increase by 2, she receives a +2 bonus to her Strength and the stability bonus increases by 4.

Battle Form: The bodyshifter changes her body into a deadly battle machine, become faster and deadlier. In this bodyshift, all of the bodyshifter's speed increase by 20 ft, she falls under the effect of barkskin and gains the ability to sprout or sheath armor spikes from her body as a free action. The spikes are automatically under the effect of a uncapped greater magic weapon effect, using your class level as caster level. Finally in this form the bodyshifter's base attack bonus become equal to her class level.

Augment: If she invests a single shift point on this bodyshift, the bodyshifter gain the ability to sprouts blades from her limb (up to one per limb). The blades behave as scimitars except that they deal damage equal to the bodyshifter's unarmed strike and may be enhanced separately. Like the spikes, the blades are automatically under the effect of a uncapped greater magic weapon effect, using your class level as caster level.

If she invests two shift points, she gain the benefits of the Improved Combat Trick and Spring Attack feats, her spike and blade attacks are automatically Keen and Ghost-Touch and all of her movement speed increase by a further 20 ft.

If she invests three shift points, she gain the benefits of the Running Assault feat and her blade and spike attacks are automatically Wounding.

If she invest four shift points, she gain the benefits of the Greater Combat Trick feat, she now bypass all DR (except DR/-) with her blade and spike attack, she also gain the ability to destroy force effects with them. She treat a 5x5 square of force as an object with 10 hit points per inch of thickness and a hardness equal to the caster level of the caster.

If she invests five shift points, her iterative attacks gained from BAB no longer gain a penalty greater than -5 and she is constantly under the effect of haste. If her haste is somehow dispelled it is instead suppressed for 1d4 rounds.

If she invests six shift points,

If she invest seven points,

Elastic Body: The bodyshifter's body become extremely elastic and thus can be stretched far past its normal breaking points. The bodyshifter halves any source of bludgeoning damage dealt to her, minimizes falling damage and her natural reach increase by 10 feet. She doubles the distance she can use Extend Limbs over. She also counts as two size categories smaller for the purpose of squeezing through tight spaces.

Augment: If the bodyshifter spends 1 point, she doubles the reach increase and the distance she can stretch her limbs. Both triple if she invest 2 points, quadruple for 3 and so on.

Evolved Skin: The bodyshifter focus her effort on her skin, making it able to heal about any cuts and become extremely sensitive. While in this bodyshift the bodyshifter's body count as being made of Duraleather, she gain fast healing 1 which may only bring her up to 50% hit points and stack with other sources of fast healing. Her her skin become a sensory organ granting her Blindsense out of 30 ft, however it only function in any area with air.

Augment: if she invests a single shift point on this bodyshift, she count her Constitution double for the purpose bleedout

If she invests two shift points on this bodyshift, her Blindsense increase to 60 ft and she become able to block painful sensation, becoming immune to pain-effect.

If she invests three shift points on this bodyshift, her skin heal so fast that she become immune to all bleeding damage and her fast healing become 3 and can heal her past half hit points.

If she invests four shift points on this bodyshift, her skin now become so sensitive that she gain Blindsight out of 30 ft in addition to her Blindsense of 60 ft.

If she invests five shift points on this bodyshift, she can now hear, see and breath through her skin. She become immune to blindness, deafness and cannot asphyxiate unless there is a complete lack of air.

If she invests six shift points on this bodyshift, her fast healing increase to 5 and her Blindsight and Blindsense range double.

If she invests seven shift points on this bodyshift, her skin can now feed on sunlight making her able to survive without breathing, drinking, eating or sleeping as long as she is in contact with sunlight. While under sunslight her skin simply heal too fast, increase her fast healing to 10 and halving piercing and slashing damage.

Extra Arms: The bodyshifter grows another pair of arms. However they start off much clumsier and weaker than normal arms. She may only wield light weapons with her secondary arms and only adds half of her Strength modifier to damage. Any skill checks made with only the secondary arms are made with a –4 penalty. While in this bodyshift she gain the benefist of the Codex Multiweapon Fighting feat.

Augment: If she invests a single shift point on this bodyshift, her secondary arms no longer take penalties and may now wield one-handed or light weapons.

If she invests two shift points on this bodyshift, she gains an additional pair of arms which start weaker but become normal when she invests three points and she gain additional attacks when she make a full-attack.

If she invests four shift points on this bodyshift, she gains an additional pair of arms which start weaker but become normal when she invests five points and she gain additional attacks when she make a full-attack.

If she invests six shift points on this bodyshift, she gains an additional pair of arms which start weaker but become normal when she invests seven points and she gain additional attacks when she make a full-attack.

Augment: For each shift points invested in this bodyshift, the bodyshifter may select an additional feral strike, also gaining access to the Tail Feral Strike. The bonus to Strength and Dexterity increase by 2 for each shift point invested and the speed bonus increases by 10 feet for each 2 shift points invested.

If she invests three points, she may select four abilities from the beast shape II instead one three from the first list.

If she invests four points, she may select five abilities from the beast shape III list instead. She may select an additional ability for each point invested thereafter.

Giant Size: The bodyshifter's size increases substantially, growing a single size category. She gain the reach/space and all other characteristics from changing size, with the exception of the changes noted below.

Augment: If the bodyshifter invests 2 shift points, she may increase one additional size category larger and one additional size category for each point invested thereafter.

Living Buzz-Saw: The bodyshifter turns into a grotesque living buzz-saw, shifting her body and spinning very rapidly upon herself. The bodyshifter gain a hover speed equal to her base land speed (clumsy). More importantly, she can fly through the space of other creatures and objects, even hostile creatures, without provoking attacks of opportunity. When she does so she automatically make an unarmed attack at her highest base attack bonus. This attack deals slashing damage, bypasses DR/Adamantine and Hardness of 20 or less and inflicts 1d6 points of bleed. This attack may only be done once per creature per round.

Augment: If the bodyshifter invests a single shift point in this bodyshift, her hover speed increases to twice her land speed.

However, she gains a fly speed equal to twice her base land speed with poor maneuverability, but can only fly up to her Constitution modifier rounds at a time (minimum 1), and must rest twice as long as she flew before attempting to fly again.

Augment: If the bodyshifter invests a single shift point into this bodyshift, her maneuverability increases to average.

If she invests two points, she may fly indefinitely without resting. She may also replicate the effect of gust of wind at will.

If she invests three points, her wings become strong enough to replicate the effect of gale force each 1d4 rounds and her maneuverability increase to good.

If she invests four points, she gain the ability to use wings of thunder as stance which she can maintain even if she possess other stances.

If she invests five points, she may use gale force and hurricane disc with a shared 1d4 round cooldown between uses.

If she invests six points, her fly speed triples and she may use hurricane force with a 1d4 round cooldown between uses. She no longer has a cooldown for gale force and hurricane disc.
