You can speak and understand any language, as per the tongues spell. You cannot have this and the reverse form of this utterance active at the same time.

Reverse: You can read and write any language. The ability to read does not necessarily impart insight into the material, merely its literal meaning. Magical writing cannot be read, though the utterance reveals that it is magical. This spell can be foiled by certain warding magic (such as the secret page and illusory script spells). It does not decipher codes or reveal messages concealed in otherwise normal text.

Failure: On a failed truespeak check, your speech or text is garbled and distorted. You suffer Garbledegoop flaw effect for the duration when speaking, reading, or writing an unknown language. If you fail the check while reading, subsequent attempts to read the same text will still give you incorrect or garbage translation for the duration of the effect.

Primal UtteranceEdit

Normal: The duration becomes 24 hours, and you may speak to any creature, even vermin and other mindless beings, and be understood. Your voice is translated for all creatures at the same time. For the duration you gain command as a spell-like ability at will, though a successful save renders a creature immune for 24 hours.

Reversed: The duration becomes 24 hours, and you no longer trigger read or sight activated magical traps or symbols such as symbol of death. You are also immune to their effects if triggered. This also applies to other dangerous read hazards such as the Manual of Silver Magic, benefiting as if you met its pre-requisites.
