Terrifying Reputation

You have a terrifying reputation around you, regardless if the rumors are true or not.

Benefit: You are the terrifying Dragon Slayer, the Scourge of Carpathia, the Consumer of Souls, He Who Should Not Be! Your reputation serves you well, giving you a +3 bonus on Intimidate checks. You can choose to have a specific focus (such as against dragons, or a certain nation) and get a +6 bonus (and penalties, as below), but only against them.

Drawback: Your reputation precedes you and it turns out not to win you friends. If creatures recognize who you are you get a penalty to Diplomacy checks equal to your Intimidate bonus gained from this trait, and creatures become one step less friendly to you than normal. You also take the penalty on any attempts made to convince others you are not who they believe. Creatures trying to track you get a bonus equal to the bonus from this trait to track you or otherwise gather information about you.

Special: Just to make it worse, even spells seem convinced you are who you say you are. Any divination attempts to determine your reputation will reveal your terrifying history regardless if it is true or not.

Roleplaying Ideas: Perhaps you have a rich or soiled past which does not leave you. Or perhaps none of this is true at all, but for some reason everyone assumes you are indeed the subject of your terrifying reputation.
