"By the way my name is Gedac-"
"Don't interrupt me, Tauri-34!"

The construction was being built by giant orange metal spider bots, with four legs and two large arms with wrench-like pincers which function as legs at times. It constantly removes building material from its backpack-like hump on its back, topped with a warning light to alert humans of construction.

Developed by the Luna-Tesla Corporation for massive city building projects, especially in places where human workers could not work or where large materials must be handled, these giant arachnoid machines are clearly build for industry, painted in vibrant orange and black and equipped with warning lights. A single red optic eye on a stalk observes activities as it employs a combination of its massive wrench-like arms and it's smaller manipulator arms which can draw and sheathe items it encounters into its extradimensional backpack. They communicate via radio waves and specialized control tablets, or directly by a control panel on their back.

Standing at an impressive 10 ft tall at rest (or 5 ft where the main body rests), it can stretch itself taller instead of wide to reach high up locations and perform maintenance, up to 30 ft high. It has surprisingly small feet for a machine of its weight (270 tons!), yet some ill understood proprietary mechanism in the legs keeps it from sinking into the ground. The heavy constructor is capable of lifting 5600 lb. or less as a light load, 5601-11200 lb. as a medium load, and 11201-16800 lb. as a heavy load, ignoring any weight held within its backpack.

Combat[edit]

The heavy constructors do not have an attack program and will not intentionally attack anything unless pushed to do so. However, if malfunctioning it may confuse living creatures with building materials in need to be demolished. In such a case it's powerful wrench claws excel at grappling and smashing with raw blunt trauma.

The constructor's smaller manipulator arms are not really used for combat but could conceivably hold weapons and tools. For the purposes of carrying objects, treat them as two sizes smaller (Medium size).

Programming: The heavy constructor possesses the following programs: Collect, Identify Creature, Identify Object, Job Function (Construction Worker), Reposition, and Sort.

Toolbox (Ex): The heavy constructor comes with an in-built bag of holding IV with the easy drawing of a handy haversack. It's insides are metal and in little risk of being pierced. It usually holds construction tools within, including augmentations and replacements to its claw arms. Variant arms may include blowtorches, saws, and actual hands.

It always has some tool required for the job on hand. Thus it has a masterwork toolbag at all times. The bonus has been applied above to its Profession Construction Worker skill.

Siege Weapon (Ex): The heavy constructor is treated as a siege weapon for the purpose of interacting with the hardness of fortifications, as well as how things interact with it. As a result, ranged non-siege attacks are halved before hardness.

Stability (Ex): Heavy constructors have stability as a dwarf, gaining a +8 bonus.

Construction[edit]

Tauri-34 Heavy Constructors are build out of a composite of many different metals, plastics, and alloys which must be processed in a factory. In addition its computer core requires special components and programming. The cost of the base material components are worth 1800 gp.

Assembling the body requires a DC 22 Craft (technology) check, a DC 22 Knowledge Engineering, or a DC 22 Knowledge Xeno check.

CL 9th; Craft Construct, lesser geas, secret chest; Price 18,000 gp; Cost 8,100 gp + 648 XP.
