Talk:Shining Jade Ring (3.5e Equipment)

That price[edit]
Need to figure out when "solid-only major creation as a standard, at will" is level appropriate. Then I can determine the price. Any ideas? -- Eiji-kun 07:53, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Shouldn't this be a minor artifact? That the Shining Jade Corps can freely craft Shining Jade rings at will and sell it to just about everyone doesn't seem that funny at all. In fact, this seems like a job for a PrC much like those from Lords of Madness, which tie progression of the item to the class.
- As for Major Creation...I have the impression that the constructs would be essentially like Shadow Conjuration but made out of ectoplasm instead of shadows. It'd be a combination of Shadow Conjuration and Astral Construct, where you create an astral construct but having the shape and abilities of a summoned creature. Since (Greater) Shadow Conjuration allows you to duplicate Major Creation, it's an elegant way to handle the powers and makes it quite a bit more powerful.
- But I'd pitch it as "minor artifact" because of the whole myth behind it. It wouldn't make no sense otherwise. T.G. Oskar 17:45, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Ooo, Greater Shadow Conjuration is cleaner, this is true. I'll use that.
- Artifacts were the logical choice, but since I'm trying to develop an epic ring (the category needs filling badly, though I failed and ultimately had set it to 100k per Ghostwheel's advice), I'm going for something with a price. Though it's clearly a Green Lantern rip, it's not actually supposed to be the lantern rings, and as such I don't feel as if I need to follow the artifact-fluff of them. -- Eiji-kun 20:13, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
