Maybe make the spellbook adding retroactive?[edit]
e.g.
- 1: Whenever you add spells to your spellbook from leveling, you add one additional spell. If you take this feat later on, you retroactively gain this benefit for your earlier levels. If you have Bard's spellcasting progression you gain the benefits of Ascended Progression feat.
