Grapple Checks yo[edit]
Gang Tackle (Ex): If multiple runts attempt to grapple the same opponent, they can pool their grapple checks into a single cumulative roll that is made against their foe. Size and ability modifiers apply normally to each roll before they are pooled.
So three lvl 2 runts (str 10, no racial HD) who all grapple the same person would roll 3d20-9? And if 24 Runt 3/Fighter 1 NPCs with Str 16 and Improved Grapple all targeted the same foe, it would be 24d20+120, correct?--Tavis McCricket 21:00, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Hypothetically, yes, as written, except that as intended it was not intended to increase the number of grapplers. So, according to how it should have been, a medium creature could be grappled by a maximum of six runts, and only each group of grunts that occupy the same square would be able to share a roll. The primary aim was to make the grunts more effective as a group. Then again, pooling their rolls might have been extreme. Perhaps a circumstance bonus for each runt that's added to the highest grapple check would be more balanced? - TG Cid 04:37, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
- On second thought, I have a revised idea for this: Gang Tackle (Ex): Multiple runts occupying the same square can make an grapple as one. Each participating runt rolls a grapple check, and the highest result gains a +2 bonus for every other runt sharing the same square. In addition, all runts that occupy the same square count as one creature of their size for the purposes of determining the maximum number of participants in a grapple.
- The bonus to the grapple can be changed as needed, but this version seems to accomplish the same effect while making the grapple check more balanced. Thoughts? - TG Cid 05:19, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
