Weapon Damage[edit]

While it's true that a dagger gets a larger percentage bonus to damage than a greatsword does from a +X enhancement bonus, that's not necessarily unbalanced. People still go for weapons that do marginally more damage, in the absence of any other factor, and few weapons in the SRD are balanced to any significant extent by doing less damage in exchange for some other property: people still use magic Greatswords instead of magic Guisarmes, Scythes, or Falchions, don't they?

Also, probably more importantly, the actually small weapons (light and one handed) already suffer from the crippling disadvantage that the user probably needs more than one of them. --Foxwarrior (talk) 19:43, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

While it is true that whether basic weapon/armor enhancement is in need of a fix or not is up to debate, the meat of this variant will be the way special qualities are implemented. Based on later trials, the section about basic enhancement may be scrapped entirely. So, stay tuned. --Sulacu (talk) 21:11, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
