Many Questions[edit]

Why is the train so small? It seems like more of a single train car, really.

Plane shifting a la shadow walk partially depends on the fact that the material plane and the plane of shadow are partially coexistent. Most adjacent planes aren't, so there's no way of determining where you should appear when you arrive. Also, did you notice that shadow walk already lets you get to other planes, so long as the DM puts a passage to them on the plane of shadow?

And isn't a ton 2000 pounds? --Foxwarrior (talk) 05:01, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

Indeed, it IS a single train car. Additional cars sold separately.
This is a slightly more versatile shadow walk in the sense that you don't need to stop by the shadow plane to do your business. You could go from the plane of fire to the plane of magma to the plane of earth (three stops) because magma and fire are next to each other. Shadow isn't required, though if anything most everything touches the astral so most trips will be A-Astral-B. And that's A-ok with me.
I messed up on that math didn't I? Checking. (Yup, I did! Fixed!) -- Eiji-kun (talk) 05:08, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
The other bit I was trying to get at was that unlike plane shift, there are no rules for indicating where on the plane you arrive. Since this is lower level than greater teleport, it actually matters that this could quite plausibly dump you an infinite number of miles away from the city of brass when you use the train to go the plane of fire. --Foxwarrior (talk) 05:16, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
I don't follow. Shadow Walk states you end up 1d10x100 feet from your intended destination. If you're intended destination is the City of Brass, you'd end up 1d10x100 feet away from it at the end of your trip, no? -- Eiji-kun (talk) 05:23, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
Maybe I should read things more. --Foxwarrior (talk) 05:44, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
