Epic?[edit]

This armor well exceeds the 200k price limit of non-epic magic items. That said it should probably be listed as epic unless it is repriced. --Sulacu 19:28, February 27, 2010 (UTC)

I'd rather it be repriced, because it just isn't so good to be worth that much. Surgo 19:32, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
I'd stick the price at the price for the armor plus 10 or 20 thousnd fer the spikes cus lets face it, armor spikes suck.--ThirdEmperor 00:52, February 28, 2010 (UTC)
If I were keeping the same, I would drop the price to 165,550 gp, however, I think I shall be taking Option B, which is, give it a special ability or two to actually make it more than just an out-of-the-book crafted item (reworking it into an artifact). Since this is homebrew, it should be interesting. Current front runner abilities: The armor spikes can shoot out somehow. The enchantment bonus scales with the wearer's HD (instead of a static +5, making it available to be given out at lower levels, since it would be weaker on a weaker wearer). I'll be giving it some thought over the following days to find a resolution. --Ganteka Future 19:28, February 28, 2010 (UTC)

Rewritten[edit]

Okay, mechanics have been overhauled. Added in some of the missing flavor (not sure why it wasn't there to begin with...oh well). Moved it away from "you may obtain this at Level X and it will wear out its usefulness at Level Y" kind of design and into a sort of experimental item. It could probably use some clarifications here and there to streamline it a bit, as it is currently written rather rough. If I overlooked anything, let me know. Feedback is encouraged. --Ganteka Future 23:52, March 5, 2010 (UTC)
