Clarification[edit]
Original Knowledge DC: OP's attempt to change DC of knowledge tests results from the misconception of correct rules. The DC of the Knowledge test is usually 10 + CR of the monster, not its HD. And you don't count class levels and such, only its base racial CR – so to tell a human from orc you always need DC 10 check (heck, even 5, if humans or orcs are common in your campaign setting. SRD is incorrect when it states that DC equals 10+HD, check with MM 3 and MM 4. – Xan (talk) 12:53, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
