Talk:Direfrost Knight (3.5e Prestige Class)
Magic Corruption: Ice weapon[edit]
is the weapon the direfrost knight creates permanent, or does it go away when it leaves his hands?--Azerinth 14:34, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
- It goes away, but it's the same weapon each time. Reviewing this after all this time, I'm buffing the power a by allowing it to be enhanced. -- Eiji Hyrule 18:58, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
- alrighty, then you just need to define how much it can be enchanted and if there is the option of changing the weapon and/or enhancements ater initial creation.--Azerinth 19:31, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
- What do you mean? It can be enchanted as any standard weapon, so I presume if you can chance enchantments later, that is up to your DM (I myself allow people to 'sell' and buy new enchantments on weapons). Got a good way to word "as a normal weapon?" -- Eiji Hyrule 22:38, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
- if his weapon is made of ice, and disappears when it leaves his hands, how is he supposed to get anyone else to work on it? a forge would melt it, and if being magically enhanced, he would have to keep his hands on the weapon the whole time, wouldn't that be terribly impractical? i mean he loses his grip for one second and the whole thing is ruined.--Azerinth 00:24, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
- I rather intended it like how one may enchant a warforged, yes they would have to be present for the enchanting, but it is themselves, not nessicarly that particular shard of ice, which is being enchanted, which is why it applies to whatever they manifest. Got a way to word this? -- Eiji Hyrule 02:12, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
- "A direfrost knight's ice weapon may be enchanted as a manufactured weapon, but because the weapon stems from the direfrost knight's own body it is arm that is the target of those enchantments (none of the enchantment bonuses carry over to any other weapon he wields, however)." It's not perfect, but I think something like that ought to do it. - TG Cid 18:36, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
Mechanical changes on Talk please[edit]
I'm not going to revert it, but would the user that recently edited this class, Duskblade23, please justify the power upgrade you gave this class or at least make note of it in the Talk page? Common courtesy.
To others, the class has been given a curious powerup. What does everyone think of it? I'm currently out on debate about it (on one hand it was one of my weaker classes, on the other hand, for example, why a good Reflex save? Nothing about ice makes me think good reflex.) Thoughts? -- Eiji-kun 19:40, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
EDIT: On recommendation of others, I might be returning to this class to give it an overhaul anyway. Old class, so time to apply the new things I've learned. -- Eiji-kun 20:25, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- I think the changes make it rogue level-ish. That's about all I have to say on the subject. -- Jota 01:17, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
