Dragonhide was probably a poor base to use for designing this material. It's not a great material and the game expects you to kill a Colossal dragon to make a suit of fullplate for a Medium creature. The options there are great wyrm red dragon (CR 26), wyrm (CR 25) and great wyrm (CR 27) gold dragon, and great wyrm silver dragon (CR 26). All for it not being metal and the druid still not being able to wear it because she's not proficient with heavy armor. Also, the system says you can get a shield with that but doesn't mention which shield to use as the base statistics for it, wood or steel. I've assumed steel is correct given the hit points and hardness.
With chitin, at least you've got some colossal options at lower CRs (CR 9 centipede, CR 11 spider, CR 12 scorpion), and are much more likely to just run across in a typical game instead of as the game-ending final boss encounter.
The design space on this one was funky because of all that. Probably forgot some other things to mention. Oh well. --Ganteka Future (talk) 20:07, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
