Talk:Chiropteryx (3.5e Monster)

My comments[edit]
I have only slight reservations on echoing Gan's rating. Simply put, d8 Con DRAIN and AC 27 on a CR 7 creature is a bit too good. If this is addressed, I'd be OK with liking this, since otherwise, it's very good. - MisterSinister 05:03, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Con drain has been lowered to d6 and Dexterity to 28. This should put its AC on more acceptable levels. Vampiric touch SLA has also been brought down to 3/day. Still debating whether to issue a save vs Con drain or keep it no-save as is. --Sulacu 15:30, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Hot diggity daffodil, do I like this monster. The concept is such a classic, and it's execution is memorable and endearing as a monster. With built-in methods of dealing with it, and as more of a non-standard combat consisting less of "I attack", encounters are likely to be memorable for the PCs as well as interesting for the DM to flex his tricksyness. |

I actually really like the changes. The waves of fatigue is still a little severe for my tastes, but the Con Drain is offset enough by a low attack roll. I'd probably reduce the drain to damage if I ran this, but all-in-all it does make a good hunter type of monster that could appear several times keeping a party on its toes. |

Although this is very strong, I think that with the changes, it's manageable. It's also an interesting and genuinely scary monster, and one which I would personally use. |
