Steal Voice
Enchantment (Compulsion) [Curse, Mind-Affecting]
Level: Bard 4, Cleric 6
Components: V, S, F
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One creature
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

...

On a failed save, the target permanently loses the ability to speak. They cannot vocalize at all, not even a scream. They can still write as a means of communication. The voice is locked away within the focus (hardness 8, 20 hp) and cannot be released until then. At the caster's choice they can choose to have the amulet or piton grant any creature who wields it the ability to speak in the stolen voice of the one locked within with perfect accuracy.

This is a curse and can only be lifted if the focus is broken, or limited wish, miracle, or wish is used to break the curse. Remove curse and break enchantment fail to break the curse, but do reveal the location of the focus.

When the focus is broken, it explodes into a 20 ft radius burst of sonic, dealing 10d6 sonic damage (Fortitude save for half). The target's voice is then restored.

Focus: A crystal amulet or piton worth 500 gp.
