This "sword" is in fact made of 12 large metal pieces, with a simple steel wire connecting them all to it its hilt. In this state it is unusable as a proper weapon, instead being a medium improvised weapon with reach. If the command word is spoken by it wielder, an electric current will run through the wire and cause all the piece to magnetically connect, forming a +1 [[SRD:Shock|Shock]] [[Urukke Steel (3.5e Equipment)|Urukke Steel]] [[SRD:Bastard Sword|Bastard Sword]]. When swung around, the pieces are able to temporarily detach from each other, granting the weapon reach while allowing the wielder to still threaten adjacent squares.
