*It has all the normal statistics of a normal animal companion plus darkvision 60 ft (or improved darkvision by +30 ft). It takes +1 damage per spell level each round it is exposed to a magical [Light] effect.
*It is extraplanar outside outsider of the Plane of Shadow and is counted as a summoned monster for spells and effects which interact with it.
*It retains damage over multiple summons, but is brought back to life and fully healed after 24 hours. The shadow companion can persist up to 10 minutes per class level (minimum 10 minutes), and the time need not be consecutive.
