:::::Well Tarkis, LA is really only half the story with race power. Sure, a vast majority of races are just LA races with no HD. While, as the example, [[Deathly Asutas (3.5e Race)|deathly asutas]] use a racial progression to achieve its full racial power, it doesn't have LA, so listing it as LA +6 is grossly inaccurate. Listing it as LA 0 is closer to fair, as it can be used as an LA 0 race with the variant, but then, I think for the time being, I'm the only one venturing into racial progression territory for races (since there are problems inherent with its design philosophy). Anyways, before I get too distracted, I suppose I should mention that there are races that have both LA and racial HD (and don't use racial HD progressions). [[Uberich (3.5e Race)|Uberich]] have 4 racial HD and LA 1, being ECL 5. Not listing both ECL and LA is just going to be troublesome for people doing searches. Yeah, in the past, I've gotten a lot of funny remarks from people about the [[Deathly Asutas (3.5e Race)|deathly asutas]], mostly along the lines of "there is ''no'' way this has no LA" and "are you out of your mind?" before I point out the ECL when people do searches by LA. ::::::It makes sense I guess... it just hurts my brain and still doesn't seem necessary. Your example could easily be taken as either a +0 race with a 6 level racial progression I had forgotten about (or a +6LA race (with the other option a variantactively ignored) and the listing would be fine and stupid rule where racial hit dice count the ECL entry unnecessarysame as class levels for determining minimum xp levels. The only issue with yours is that So yeah, you reference both the standard need account for ECL and the variant in the listing. The Uberich not so much, what with its "Hey, look at my level 3 (with +1 LA, total ECL of 8) when making a character I made to join this level 4 for a game" stuff going on. In We should probably keep the table and go through and make sure that case though, its ECL entry isn't really necessary since the racial hit dice it gets ECLs for everything are pretty minor adjustments (though its LA may accurate. But not be high enough to accommodate them, but that's another argument). So in neither case do I see it as particularly necessary for the entry.
