::::::: You could give them an extra Ability Score Increase at 14th. That's weird, unprecedented, and doesn't seem at all connected to the story of the subclass... but I don't think it'd be a balance issue and there aren't any system problems with it I can see. :::::::: Of course, you *can*. But no other archetype / subclass gives an Ability Score Increase as their bonus and it's inherently really boring. An Abjuration Wizard gets super sweet spell tanking skills; the Alchemist gets... an Ability Score Increase. After they've already maxed out their Intelligence.
