Piercing Crossbows (3.5e Variant Rule)

No change in size, 17:56, 27 March 2018
no edit summary
Depending on the type of crossbow, crossbow when fired at a target may subtract a number of points of armor class that is provided by worn or natural armor based off the type of crossbow. This does not apply to deflection bonuses, shield bonuses or dodge bonuses.
Example: Rory the crossbowyer uses a heavy crossbow on a giant ant soldier , usually the armor class is 17, however because the crossbow is designed to pierce armor, the heavy crossbow subtracts 5 4 ac from the natural armor bonus when doing the attack roll, allowing for a better chance to hit and hurt the giant ant soldier.
