This spell is effective against mobile targets, since the spear comes at them too quickly to dodge. When you cast this spell, make a ranged attack roll against the target's flat-footed AC. Though the target is denied its Dexterity bonus, the spell's aim is not precise enough to deal Sneak Attack or other precision-based damage. On a hit, the spear does 1d8 piercing damage per 2 caster levels (max 10d8). '''Special:''' If this spell is cast underwater, it is even more deadly. The spear moves so quickly that it generates a shockwave, which hits the target even if the spear itself missed. The target takes an additional 1d6 bludgeoning damage equal to half the piercing damage per 2 caster levels, and must make a Fortitude save to avoid being dazed for one round. On a miss with the spear the target may make a Fort save for half damage from the shockwave, and is not dazed.
