This power requires a ranged touch attack to hit; If it succeeds, it deals 1d6 damage. This damage results from pure psychic power and thus energy resistance does not apply, but power reistance/spell resistance does.
However, it affects more mentally- and spiritually-active creatures more severely; If used against a target with the Psionic or Incarnum subtype(s), or against a creature with an Intelligence score of 20 or higher, the damage increases to 1d8.
However, likewise, those without minds escape the most of the effect. When used against targets with Intelligence scores of less than 5 (Including mindless creatures, like constructs, oozes and some undead), the damage is reduced to 1d4.
