''A shining blue beam shot forth, tearing down the wall and generating ingots of iron stolen from the surface.''
Generally used for mining rather than offense, this spell locks the crystal focus in place in the air and fires a laser beam in a line area effect out to Long range (400 ft + 40 ft) which deals 1 point of [Light] damage/level, with a [[Reflex]] save for half damage. The laser is considered a siege weapon, and is usually not reduced before hardness. The laser continues to fire in the same direction each round until refocused on a new area as a move action. For each subsequent round an object or creature remains within the beam, the damage increases to 3 damage/level, 5 damage/level, 10 damage/level, to a maximum of 15 damage/level after 5 rounds.
Besides forming long tunnels and igniting flammable objects, the laser can be set to collect a specific material when it destroys an object, such as iron, diamonds, or salt. When the laser destroys such a substance, it is transported to the nearest empty space by the mining laser in the form of bricks, ingots, or simply deposited in a puddle if liquid. How much material gathered depends on what you mine.
