Use of this spell causes a blast of solar energy to erupt from your palm, deal 1d6 points of damage per caster level (maximum 5d6) to a single creature within range against whom you make a successful ranged touch attack. Undead and oozes instead take 1d8 damage per level; undead and other creatures specifically harmed by bright light (such as [[SRD:Vampire|vampires]], [[SRD:Shadow|shadows]], etc.) take 1d10 damage per level. Despite its greater effects against such creatures, this spell does not count as creating natural sunlight for any purpose.
