== Multipart Oblong ==
Unusually large creatures (particularly objects) or creatures which are combined together may take up more than one square in a VOLTRON-esque fashion may be treated as if they were multiple creatures or targets way which are fused togetherdoes not translate into a perfect square. This is in many ways like [[Segmented (3.5e Creature Ability)|segmented creatures]], but rather than have segements sections following freely behind the leading segementsection, the segments sections are instead fused together with one section acting as the lead segment being its center of gravitymass, the axis on which it turns. Thus a creature whose squares sections take the shape of a U can turn in place (making no movement) and become a C shape instead. With multipart oblong creatures, facing is important and actually built in by the nature of which way they are facing. Multipart Oblong creatures are often contructs, vehicles, or other immobile masses which may take on unusual shapes.
As with segemented segmented creatures, multipart oblong creatures have individual hit point and AC totals, but share all other aspects of the creature. If a segment section drops below 0 hp that segement square is deador destroyed, but it may not kill typically retains structural integrity if the entire creature. The entire creature has a hit point total equal to 1/2 the hit points rest of all the segements added togethercreature lives. Penalties for killing particular segments sections on the creature vary, as defined in the creature entry. Some segements sections may be vital and will immediately kill the whole creature. Other segements may cause a reduction in fighting abilities, mobility, or no penalty at all. The entire creature has a hit point total equal to 1/2 the hit points of all the sections added together.
Segments follow the path Sections turn in relation to its center of the lead segmentgravity, typically the head center of the creature. These segments sections provoke attacks of opportunity for movement if the whole creature moves as normal for creatures, but they do not provoke if the lead segment has simply turned in place without movingor the creature makes a 5 foot step, unless such movement would pass through an enemy square.
For example, a airship attacks the party. It is composed of 3 huge squares 5 Huge sections in a row, with the center segment section acting as its lead. Damaging the front segement section reduces its firepower, damaging the rear segement section reduces its mobility, and damaging the heavily armored middle section with the core inside would destroy the airship completely. Regardless when they reach the hp total of the entire airship (1/2 of the sum of its parts), the airship is destroyed.
