With a thundercrack the sword snapped into your hand, and with another pop your enemy was drawn near. The next sound that was heard was screaming.
The snapdragon sword is a +1 quickening katana that seems to always quiver and hum in the air even when held still, a sound which dramatically amplifies into impressive sword swings. The blade amplifies sonic energy around and running through it, granting the following abilities. The saving throw for all abilities is 10 + 1/2 BAB + ability modifier for attack rolls.
Amplification: Any effect which applies sonic damage on the blade (such as via weapon enhancement) increases the die size of the sonic damage by one step. In addition the blade can be held aloft as a standard action to produce the effect of the amplify spell centered on the blade or a point of space where the blade was. You may do this at will, but only have one effect in play at a time.
Audiomatic: As a standard action with a duration of concentration, the snapdragon blade can produce illusory sounds out to Close range (25 ft + 5 ft/2 levels). This is functionally the audio-only component of minor image with a Will save to disbelieve.
Thundersnap: When the quickening katana is drawn all creatures within your reach (besides yourself) must make a Fortitude save or be deafened for 1 round. A creature only needs to make a save once per round.
Vacuum Swipe: You draw your blade through the air so quickly it leaves a void that drags an opponent closer for a followup strike. As a swift action as part of an attack you drag a creature up to one size larger than you 5 ft closer to your position. The creature makes an opposed attack roll to resist. On a failed check they are moved 5 ft towards you and they are considered flanked for this one attack.
The snapdragon sword counts as a valid instrument for a bard to play, mimicking the effect of any instrument by singing, being "strummed", sounding like a flute when blown on, or similar. They are typically unique weapons typically associated with gifts from jovial copper dragons who would grant them to loyal bardic companions, and thus are usually not able to be crafted as the dragons guard the secret to their forging.
