2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
Shuriken are special throwing stars used to distract, hurt and impede foes from a distance. They can be used in a variety of ways by those trained in them. Characters with martial weapon proficiency may use shuriken without penalty but characters who have exotic weapon proficiency in them gain new tricks with them. When used by martial proficiency characters they have a range of 15 feet, deal 1d2 damage and have a critical range of 20/2x. Characters with exotic weapon proficiency in them deal 2d2 damage, have a range of 30 feet and have a critical range of 18-20/x2.
Shuriken if poisoned or diseased increase the DC by 2+. This is due to them being better suited for poisoning or diseasing a foe. This applies to both marital and exotic users.
Shuriken are a special monk weapon. This designation gives a monk wielding shuriken special options. A shuriken can be used as a melee weapon, treat it as a dagger one size smaller then what you would usually wield.
Although they are thrown weapons, shuriken are treated as ammunition for the purposes of drawing them, crafting masterwork or otherwise special versions of them and what happens to them after they are thrown.
Prices and weights are for five shuriken.
Tricks[edit]
Star Field : You may as a standard throw or plant 7 shuriken on a 5x5 square, treat the area as if it were covered in caltrops
Star Disarm You may attempt to disarm a foe with your shuriken as a standard action as per ranged disarm.
Extra Star You may throw an additional star at foes during a full attack action at no penalty.
Star Struck You may as a standard action throw a shuriken at a foe. If it hits the target must make a DC 15 + 1/2 your BAB + dexterity modifier or be stunned for 1 round. This does not work on creatures who do not feel pain.
