Origin[edit]
The alchemical properties of moonlight reacted with astral matter in an unspecified time and, in eons and eons of process, Shindilla was formed, a being of pure lifeforce, moonlight and prismatic matter, sentient and with affinity with bats. Those same bats that one day, gazing upon her gentle light, were awakened and transformed in vespertilli.
Description[edit]
Shindilla is a colossal bat, with wings conjoined at the base, that shines like the Astral Plane, superimposed to the night sky, and a crescent moon as a crown, while a veil of shadows trails behind her slow flight. She does not speak, but her thoughts resonate inside her listeners' minds.
Dogma[edit]
The creed of Shindilla is simple and pleasing: pursue the noble arts of mapmaking and cooking, respect your elders and community, welcome weary travelers, avoid violence and conflict, open your mind to travelling and pay the due respect to the night sky.
Scholars debate that the pastry-portfolio of Shindilla is a peculiar addition made by vespertilli, but deep in their hearts each vespertillum knows her calling.
Clergy and Temples[edit]
Almost all clergy of Shindilla are vespertilli, as she's the race's god. Her clerics are map makers and cooks, as well as advisers for vespertilli communities, often aiding in decisions, teaching the young, preserving and passing on knowledge, caring for those who fall ill and guiding their people in their wanderings.
Temples of Shindilla are located onto the highest trees or on underground cliffs difficult to reach. They are made of wood and cloth, ready to be disassembled and brought away when the moment requires it. One may often find laboratories for maps and kitchens inside, as well all that is necessary to put together longs tables for fairs and religious feasts.
