Sheathed Statue Sword[edit]

Sheathed Statue Sword
Price: 6315 gp
Body Slot: Held
Caster Level: 11th
Aura: Moderate Transmutation
Activation: --
Weight: 8

This dull gray unusually heavy longsword appears to be made of stone, but is strong as iron. Holding it makes your hand feel slightly stiffer than normal.

This masterwork longsword is magical in spite of lacking a +1 enhancement. The weapon counts as stone, but remains hard as iron. On a critical hit, the creature also takes 1d4 Dex damage as their body slowly petrifies. If a creature hits 0 Dex, they are petrified as per flesh to stone.

Its main feature is its ability to petrify others as long as the sword is sheathed in the target. As a coup de grace action, you can plunge the weapon into the creature. Instead of dealing damage, they instead are affected by flesh to stone (no save) as long as the blade is inside them. Only a strong pull (DC 20 Strength check) can remove the sword, removing the petrification without leaving a wound. This is required, as stone to flesh would revert them with a sword stuck in their body, and they would immediately be subject to a coup de grace attempt with a +40 bonus on damage (+20 with x2 critical). That means the sword must be left behind if used in this fashion.

Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, flesh to stone.
Cost to Create: 3315 gp, 240 EXP, 6 days.
