Scissor[edit]

Placed on a pair of weapons, this allows the weapon to deal extra damage when both hit at once, or to combine into a pair of scissor-like blades. Scissor weapons can only be placed on slashing melee weapons. Placed on a single weapon the enhancement does nothing, it must be wielded with a second scissor weapon of the same handedness (such as a scimitar and a longsword, or two daggers) with the following effects:

  • When wielded in Two-Weapon Fighting, reduce the penalties for two-weapon fighting by 2 to a minimum of 0.
  • As long as you hit with two or more scissor weapons in a round you cut the target in between your blades, you automatically deal the base damage of both weapons again, without any bonuses to ability score or additional damage from feats and abilities such as Power Attack.
  • You can combine your weapons into a single weapon as a swift action. It becomes two-handed if it wasn't already, and deals the combined damage of each weapon in a single attack. You choose the critical range and multiplier of one of the weapons involved, chosen when you combine them, and can disconnect them as a swift action.
  • You can used the combined form to cut things effectively. The scissor mode always deals full damage to any rope-like or flexible objects, or objects smaller than the weapons involved. You also deal maximum damage on a coup de grace.

Faint Transmutation; CL 5th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, arcane lock, keen edge; Price: +1 on each weapon.
